ted if i only eat once a day i get really ratty and a bit delirious with the lack of food i think i need to eat often maybe cutting out snacks tho is needed.

thank you for the link will have a look!
I don't go 24hrs either. I think this is where using coconut oil comes in useful as that is more readily available as fuel and it gets your system into the habit of burning fat as fuel so when your system is deprived of carbohydrates it has a back up fuel immediately at hand.

5HTP is known to be an appetite suppressant (IHERB introductory discount codes) and you may find using that also makes it very much easier to get through longer periods without getting ratty. I didn't use 5HTP last year when I was actually trying to lose weight but since it was mentioned here earlier this year, I've tried some out and I'm sure it helps me reduce my tendency to snack on nuts/olives/cheese. But it's early days as I've only been using it a week. I'll give it a month before coming to any final conclusion.

    Morning, ladies and gents

Another heavy fall of snow overnight here. But my DDs' school is open, which is a surprise (and a bitter disappointment for them ;)). I walked up to the school with them (and a dog or two) and it was gorgeous. I don't normally go walkies at that time of the morning but I feel really invigorated now, if a bit damp around the ankles.

I stepped sneakily on the scales this morning (I say sneakily because it's not my official weigh day, so I try not to take much notice of what it says midweek as I my weight tends to bounce up and down) and it said 9 st 12.5 lb! What a joy to see that 9! Just shows what happens when I don't cheat! :p If I continue to be good perhaps it'll still be a 9-something when I weigh on Monday.

    Yesterday's menu

    B: none
L: scrambled egg and bacon; SF jelly
D: HM chicken pesto mozzarella, leeks; SF jelly and cream (had a bit of a sweet craving yesterday :o)

Have a good day, everyone. Wrap up warm and drive carefully if you've had snow.

    Well done HC.:)

Do your scales actually state half pounds? Mine swing between the two figures when I've lost half a pound but I would like scales that actually weighed in half pounds iyswim.

Seems that 10st and above they weigh only in whole pounds; below 10st they give half pounds.
  • Well done HC:beer: . I bet it was a lovely feeling! I've still got to lose 4lb to get back to my target after my indulgence over Christmas:rolleyes: . Why is it that the less you have to lose the longer and harder it gets:rolleyes: . I'd also like to try and lose a further 4 or 5lb before the middle of May (and we have Easter before then:eek: ) as we are going to Florida and the food is very hard to resist there:p .
If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

    My way is Atkins;)

I've come across quite a lot about this lately. I'm open minded about it and I've just ordered some to give it a try. Quite a lot of people state it boosts their mood so I might even slip some into the OH's tea. I used your referral code Ted btw.

Because the bigger you are, the more calories your body uses naturally.

As you get smaller, your body needs less, so if you carry on eating as you did when you were bigger your loss will slow/stop ;)
