Not MSE at all - actually I only started saving money with the Intermittent Fasting. Suddenly my food budget was halved!
yeah i know my teeth were sticking to my lips the other day :rotfl: i bet people were thinking i was on some sort of tablets i was really thristy too and constantly running to the loo have you noticed the dilated pupils as well.
Just had a brain wave there could it be the bacon, but then i didnt have bacon yesterday and i was still really dry even my lips i constantly put vasalene on them.
This is not very money saving but im thinking its better having health than wealth.Atkins started 26 Jan 09 so far lost 14lb 7lb to go0 -

I haven't noticed dialated pupils but my eyes are consistently more green :rotfl:
Don't worry, it's a family thing - we start off with chocolate brown eyes and they get gradually more green until we hit 40 and they start going grey... I like them green though! And they definitely are more that way since I started losing weight... whether the two are related I can't say...Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

I ahve bought all my stuff from the butcher and went to lidl and tesco so i could shop for the cheapest items available.
I also bought 5lb bacon which i had vac packed for frezzing. I dont know what im doing wrong. I got 1lb lamb 1lb pork, frying steak about 6 pieces. 2 large pieces of chump steak and the 5lb bacon and 24 eggs £33. and lidl £2.99 for a ham which im baking so i can slice and have as snacks. the rest is all veg and herbs and stuff for making my recipes of the atkins diet book. cream milks and cheese's etc.Atkins started 26 Jan 09 so far lost 14lb 7lb to go0 -

Of course!
Well, my lodger started it - he's a very buff young man, very into health and fitness, and every so often he does a "cleanse" where he eats nothing but vitamin pills for 5 days. One time I tried it with him and found it was much easier than expected, really boosted my weighloss and I felt good for it (although funny enough since then it's hit and miss - sometimes the cleanse is successfull and other times it's just draining and has to be cut short).
Then Teddy-boy stepped in with his comments about intermittent fasting and linked to some articles (the way only Ted Hutchinson can!) about the health benefits observed in research. One article in particular recommended this method of eating until 6pm, then fasting until 6pm. I tried it and found the following:- That my body quickly got used to the timing so I didn't get uncomfortably hungry on fasting days. A litre of unsweetened soya milk was plenty to see me through after a few days' practise with more substantial drinks
- That my previously stalled weightloss picked up again (not suddenly, but just restarted its slow and steady pace)
- That I don't eat significantly more on "eating" days, so the food bill is much less
- That I actually feel more motivated to spend time on my food - I might be really hungry by 6pm but will be more creative about my cooking, and happily spend the next hour or so concocting something amazing from my storecupboard (I'm a "straight out of the fridge into my tummy" monster normally!). I learned to appreciate food better.
- If I find myself in a situation where appropriate food isn't available (usually when travelling or staying with friends), I'm quite happy to skip the meal rather than eat pastry.

Intermittent fasting This is quite an interesting blog on the subject. A lot more extreme than the level I go for when I've had a bit more wine than is good for my weight. But I think IF plus Low Carb High fat is probably more like we lived as hunter gatherer's than anything else.
I don't think 3 meals a day with snacks in between was the diet we evolved to function best with.My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

that is a great answer and very interesting i will have to give it a g im a christian and have fasted before for 2 and a half days at most
i just find i get a real sore head.
will give it a go again for diet reason's. In my experiance with it before it meant i had more time to pray about something. you dont realise how much time you spend cooking and eating.
very interesting.
thanks!Atkins started 26 Jan 09 so far lost 14lb 7lb to go0
