Buy Tesco Organic peanuts....49p for 100g bag....5.4g carbs per bag, lowest I've found so far. There's hardly any salt in them so you can then get an Atkins bar of chocolate, melt it and mix it with the peanuts to make your own chocolate peanuts.

Weather's cold today girls isn't it?

It's looking good for "induction" daily meal plans - but I'm amazed how much she expects you to eat! More than I eat at the moment... sounds risky to start picking this up

  • Hey, just got home to find "Rose Elliot's The Vegetarian Low-Carb Diet" on my doormat  Mum's threatening to come round soon so I'd better read it quick...

A fasting day for me today, so just soya milk (I never drink as much tea at work - takes too long to make). Tonight I've got another pole dancing lesson, so I'll have a light tea of spinach salad with smoked tofu and olives before I go.

Weight seems very static at the moment, which is fine - but after my next birthday is over I'm going to have to kick start again. Thing is, not sure I can be any much more low-carb (depending what this book says), so might have to do another little fad diet - I know they're not supposed to be recommended but it's done the trick every other time I've started stalling!

I also now have Rose Elliot's The Vegetarian Low-Carb Diet" been reading it. Looks really good
sw start date 23/09/2013 4 st 8 pounds to go....as of 21/10/13 not 3 stone 7 to go for first target. updated 18/11/13 now 2 stone 10lbs to go to first target.
  • hiya, yesterday's grub;

B- porridge, chopped apple and cinnamon
L- ham, egg and goat's cheese salad. Banana, manderin
D- fish in parsley sauce, cauli mash with parmesan mixed in, peas and carrots

Guys, what exactly constitutes "low carb"? Say, per 100g, what should I be looking for on labels?

God, having lotsa snacks today as feeling anxious. Just nearly blew my mouth off with Dijon mustard! Usually have the yummy and mild honey mustard but it's high carb, I guess. Will be blowing mouth off again, this eve with chilli..............just having glass of chilled chardonney ;) And breeaaathe...............

Weather looks pants again for tomorrow. Flaming heck, wanna get back on my bike!!! I could be a weather "girl"! Wonder what qualifications you need. Doesn't look so difficult........
  • depending on how my weight is going i work on a 4-5g rule per 100g (5g if going ok, 4g if i am stalling - yes i did a form of low carbing before but could still have a high carb anything i wanted meal on that one)

hello everyone been busy and nearly gave up the diet it is so hard. I have noticed a few side effects and wonder if any of you are the same. I have noticed my pupils are dilated a few weird dreams and talking out loud in sleep. Been week also. I have not had the bad breath that your meant to ge on the ketonosis.( that is worring as i wonder is it working) the other thing i have had is the constapation. I fell that i am more stable and sleeping better not that i was unstable but just thought it was worht a mention. I am begining to realise that you need to eat regular meals as im leaving it too long before i eat and am totally famished by the time i come to eat.

Hubby back on it and he has noticed a big difference in his mood - type1 diabetic unstable blood sugars- really effects your mood. He has lost weight and the blood sugars are stable and lower than in years.

seems good but at times it is so hard had another bit of choc today cant wait till its all done its too tempting.

    B- Omlette mushroom and cheese
    L- nothing
T- steak butter beans 1/4 tin and garlic olive oil and rocket lettuce

    jelly and cream

snack a few olives stuffed with feta cheese. And a small bit of coleslaw (homemade)

hope everyone is doing well today and not to cold we have nad no snow that has stayed just a bit and then the rain washed it away

funny about that mustard i had exactly the same thing today with mustard forgot that in my last post it nearly blew my head of too i got the powdered one and its killed a few brain cells. I have made out a food menu for the week ahead and went and got all the food needed to make all the stuff on the menu.

I just selected recipies from the atkins book. Cost a fortune for all the stuff so hope it lasts at least week £110 :eek::eek: but it should feed all the family 4 of us and the kids snacks are in that as well cant make them start low carbing

Since when was porridge low carb???

Badger - you may need to eat more, not less. If you starve yourself your body will hang onto every calorie you consume.

Try eating a bit more for a few days and see what happens ;)
