Yeah I think the food side of it is basically the same, although on EF the short bursts of intense exercise promote muscle retention and growth. Instead of your body basically eating itself for energy, the exercise ensures only the fat disappears. I'm down to 13% body fat at the moment, target is around 5-8%.
The whole eating foods we evolved to eat diet seems to make so much sense, I can't believe it isn't promoted more widely.0 -
I've posted a few soup recipes on the thread - not got time to find them now, but you should get them if you 'search this thread'.

Do you eat dairy though? I'm not meant to but quitting sugar, grains and spuds seems enough sacrifice to me!
Was just reading a description of the Protein Power plan (Michael Eades) which is along the same lines, he advocates doing weights/resistance rather than loadsa cardio so as not to deplete muscle mass.0 -

No, don't eat any dairy apart from eggs. Hardest thing has been giving up milk in a cup of tea. I've switched to green tea with ginseng. It's nice, but not quite the same!
The exercise on EF sounds very similar. Weights done in descending reps but increasing resistance. And quickly. Never more than 30 mins in the gym. The idea is no cardio as such, as all we'd have done as hunter gatherers is sprint to kill for food or evade predators. If we were going to cover long distances we'd just walk.
I'm still in the process of weening myself of a square of dark chocolate every now and then, but as it is my only treat I can see that taking quite a while!0 -

Daisy- here's some ideas on how to break a stall/accelerate weight loss, from Protein Power in a nutshell;
drink more water, avoid dairy, nuts, artificial sweetener, protein bars and shakes, eat 5-7 sml meals per day rather than bigger meals, eat your lightest meal for dinner, change your exercise regime.
Our bodies quickly cotton on to our intensions, apparently and they need to have variety and challenge re. exercise. It seems the adage, muscles have memory, is true. Besides...how much more are you looking to lose?0 -
hi feefee fraid i am not good at brekkie either is all i can do to get a HB egg down but i am sure u will pick up some ideas in the thread IF u can make it thru all the pages lol.... btw bear in mind some are lowcarb but not atkins so u need to decide which u are going to do for the best advice
soups.. well quite a few of us make our own, far nice and much cheaper, basically just boil up whatever veg (lowcarb) that u like whizz and add cream if u want .. if u have stock that would be good.. as tink says click at the top where it says search this thread and search on soup
daisy i KNOW u arent on induction but if u want to be i can nag for u

Aw dear Tink - you have had a stressful time recently, hope your friend can come to terms with his accident.
Feefee - welcome, for brekkers I usually have a fried egg with ham and a couple of cherry tomatoes. Takes me a couple of mins to cook. I used to be a toast and honey  girl for brekkie so it can be done.
Flemingcool - welcome and thanks for the link - I'm doing low carb more for health reasons (but the weightloss is nice:D ). I came round to the idea after thinking that humans have evolved to eat a diet that is very different to what most people actually eat.
Hmm will have to try the S&V peanuts as my weekly treat:T
Got a bit of a headache today....4 days after my jellybaby/pringles/malteser binge:o ...serves me right.
Today
B - fried egg, ham & toms
L- salad with quorn sausages and mayonaise
D - not sure yet - I'll have to stare moronically into the fridge for 10 mins for inspriration when I get home.0
