After losing my 4lb I thought I would treat myself to a snack and remembered the offer. I bought the strawberry ones as they were the lowest carbs (3g) and they are flippin lush (and very more'ish:o ) .
How bad are these going to be for weight loss? Please put me off them quickly before I go and buy more!!!:p
B- scrambled egg and mushrooms
L- coronation chicken with bacon and cabbage leaves
S- omlette
Snacks 3 (yes, three) Atkin bars:eek:
P.s. And you're right, your belly does make strange gurgly noises after these bars:o
They'll have laxative effects if you eat too many  (any sugar free sweets/bars will)
And they could kill your weightloss0 -
And I love the S&V nuts too :beer:0

Where have you been?
Don't ask! We moved offices a couple of weeks ago, and it's been a nightmare getting internet etc sorted out. I've been pulling 18 hour days sorting out boxes etc
And then a very good friend had a freak snowboarding accident in Austria. Didn't know how bad it was initially, but he's got a sever in his spine (T8) so is not likely to walk again
. His wife is out there with him, so I've been trying to get things sorted in their house for when he's allowed to come back (turning their lounge into a bedroom etc)
Not a very nice time I'm afraid.0 -
Hi everyone,
Myself and the lady started the atkins just after christmas. I do a lot of sports, mountain biking and football, whereas she is more prone to walking the dog etc. Both of us really struggled with the lack of variation on atkins, especially at breakfast, so started looking at other options. The lady has started a low GI diet, but I have gone on to Evolutionary Fitness. I've searched the thread but can't find any mention of it. Basically it involves eating loads of fruit veg and meat, and no spuds, rice, beans or pulses. no sugar, and very little dairy. Eggs are OK. It also involves random bouts of short high intesity exercise. The guy that devised it is now 71, and still goes out riding motorcross bikes in the mountains. I've been on it now for a couple of weeks and feel fantastic - loads of energy. For those struggling with atkins it might be worth a try.

You sound like a fab friend sorting things for them and I sincerely hope that things arn't as bad as they sound. Look after yourself Tink and don't forget we are here if you need to talk:)If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

How terrible, Tink.
Your poor friend. As Newish says, a single second of bad luck and your life is changed for ever. Very sad.
Welcome, Fleming, and good luck with EF.
Totally agree with what you've all been saying about second time around, and a lack of the obsessiveness. I think this can apply even if you haven't totally gone off piste for weeks or months. I reckon I could be losing at least twice what I'm actually losing, if I could get back that focus I had when I started. Now that I look 'normal' (although I'm still overweight) there just isn't that incentive and it's not easy staying on the straight and narrow.
However, was good yesterday (2 days running - whoo-hoo!):
B: none
L: corned beef and egg may saladLC cottage pie, cabbage; SF jelly and cream
Going to make my newly devised chicken pesto (my more luxurious and cheaperversion of M&S's dish) for the family tonight, as they slavered over it when I first made it for myself last week.
Funny, actually, how often that happens. Around half the time, I make two totally different meals - when I make the family something I definitely can't have, which is quite often. And very often they eye mine covetously! That's one reason why there's no need for us to fall off the wagon - we can eat totally delicious food. (I keep telling myself this, but still I sin:o.)
Have a good day, everyone. No snow here last night, but I hear we're in for a repeat peformance from Thursday.0 -
Aw Tink, sorry you (and your friends) are not having a great time right now. If your friend is the active type he's going to have a hard time adjusting to this I would think. It's going to be difficult for all. I wish you all strength.Herman - MP for all!0
