But I think IF plus Low Carb High fat is probably more like we lived as hunter gatherer's than anything else.
I don't think 3 meals a day with snacks in between was the diet we evolved to function best with.
ted if i only eat once a day i get really ratty and a bit delirious with the lack of food i think i need to eat often maybe cutting out snacks tho is needed.
thank you for the link will have a look!Atkins started 26 Jan 09 so far lost 14lb 7lb to go0 -

Surely porridge sends your blood sugar up and then you crash later in the morning
Heehee, well it's 27g carbs/serving but it's low G.I (the unmilled kind) and it doesn't half stick to your ribs til lunch! It's the best outta the lot of 'em cos it's unrefined and oats give a gradual release of energy rather than your usual spike then slump. Of course, I'd have to find something else if I were being strict but I have 2 days off my "diet" anyhow and it's about the practicality too. Just couldn't stomach "main meal food" that early, but days off are OK.
grub today;
B- porridge (oh yeah, cinnamon balances blood sugar so always add some)
L- Flax bread with cream cheese (made 80g flax and it tasted weird so will use more almond next time)
D- chilli beef with brocolli and carrots and parmesan
The Rest.....4 glasses (sml) dry w.wine, 5 baby bells (cripes!) not altogether tho.:o was feeling picky.sure I've forgotten something:huh:
Made your floopsie, Shykins, for packed lunch tomorrow. Will let you know.......felt v heavy!0 -
Pilly, what recipe do you use for your flax bread? Mine (below) doesn't use any almond and tastes good:
- One whole egg, mixed up
- Spot of melted butter
- 100g ground flax
- 1/2tsp baking powder
- sprinkling of grated mozzerella
All mixed up and zapped in the microwave for 1-2 minutesMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

This is a steal your money thing. Doesn't want you to navigate away from the page. Not helpful and likely illegal on this forum. Could be a filthy spammer  Reported.

Hi all,
Well big thanks to Ted for his link to breakfast ideas on page 169, which lead me to this great forum (lowcarber). Just been having a mooch (and then the server went down!) as want new ideas for everything, but mainly breakfast. Gonna use up my oats then try almond porridge and the various other hot cereals out there. They can be even made the night before, so that blows the "lack of time" excuse right outta the water! Also will try making the various pancake recipes, again the night before. Much less carbs for a little more effort!!As a comparison, normal oats = 27g carbs/serving. Almond porridge = 6.5g carbs/serving.
NOTE to self - MUST READ LABELS MORE!
Badger - the bread recipe is from the list that Mercy provided. Maybe I put too much baking powder in or something........Will tweak.
There's also a recipe for Paleo porridge which involves coconut flour. Does anyone know where I can get this?
Also, on these American sites there's a lot of tinned pumpkin knocking about and the recipes look nice. Anyone seen it in the UK? Can't even see fresh ones when not around Halloween time! :rolleyes:0 -

It's a lovely snowy day today and my 3 little ones are very happy as school is closed (I'm not too pleased as it means I have to play in the snow now:rolleyes: ).
Didn't post food yesterday as went to the cinema last night and resisted all the treats;) . Saw 7 pounds.... not really sure if I enjoyed it or not (DH fell asleep for the last half so I know his feelings:rolleyes: ).
B- scrambled egg and mushrooms
L- cabbage leaves with HM coronation chicken and bacon
S- Beef, cauli, broc and cabbage with a small amount of cheese sause.
Have a lovely day everyone:DIf you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.
My way is Atkins0
