    I do like parmesan & that sounds like a good idea BUT I have a problem with parmesan/any cheese containing animal rennet _pale_ . I know you can get vegetarian parmesan but have never seen any so if any of you low-carb vegetarians know where I can get some please ............?

    I had no idea that Parmesan still uses animal rennet.

    Just had a look and found this. Otherwise, does Gran Padana use animal rennet? It's quite similar to Parmesan (and cheaper).

    Hi All....brrr its cold ooop north today

    Well done Newish on the weightloss:T

    Thanks SweetS for the HM soup and garlic chicken ideas - I 'm not very imaginative in the kitchen so I love to hear people's ideas for meals.

    The Parmesan coating sounds nice too cos I miss cruchy/breaded type fish/chicken........and I'm strangely dran to the pork scratchings idead - I'll try anyone once!:p

    Right then, was very good yesterday and stuck to the meal plan I posted...apart from an extra 5 suasages I ate in the evening. They needed cooking yesterday and suddenly I ate them all........:o I blame it on the cold and trudging home through piles of snow working up an appetite.

    Today

    B - Fried egg, ham and cheese
    L - Salad with feta and mayonnaise
    D - Pork chops in the slow cooker and veggies (loving my slow cooker at the mo - it's great to come home and the main bit of the meal is already done.

  • Hi y'all,

    menu for yesterday;
    B- Porridge with walnuts, cinnamon and flax
    L- lettuce wraps with ham and leftover egg curry
    D- Leftover veg curry with cauli rice. 1st time I done the "rice" and it wasn't very rice-like, but quite nice. Shall invest in cheapo processor methinks.

    Lush sunny day here in York, lotsa vit D going down!

    Well I didn't know there were rules about dairy (apart from I shouldn't strictly be having any!);) In fact, I ate less previous to this way of eating. I never ate cheese, cream or butter and I do now, but it's such a convenient way of upping the fat levels. Can this be detrimental?

    Glad there are others also doing non-specific low carb diets. Not posting weight loss (don't think I've actually lost anyways : ( )cos I'm being dead rubbish by not going to gym, despite extortionate David Lloyd fees! Feel flabmongous but only myself to blame. Respect to those who're exercising regularly. :T Just not motivated at the mo.........
