Hello lovelies :hello:
We're "working from home" today;):D No, we really are!:D My company didn't want people risking a repeat of yesterday's travel nightmare, so advised people to work from home if at all possible. Has been snowing on and off here this morning, but nothing like yesterday.
Newish - well done on the loss! :j
Sue - glad you had a nice time in Barca - must've been a bit of a shock coming back to all that snow!Saz - glad you 2 are home safe, lovely pic, btw.
I know what you mean about the cold tempting you. I've had visions of mash all day! And I've not ad a spud (barring chips when nowt else available) more than 4 times in the last 12 months.
It's amazing what a little red wine topped up with very hot water can do for your cravings. Suddenly you are warm and low carb doesn't seem so bad
At least you can snuggle down together and hibernate, if only for 10 hrs at a time
Mwah! You lucky people!
M
Thanks, Mercy hun xxx Hmm... red wine and hot water eh? I might just give that a go!;)
Re: plans in sigs - when we had a concerted effort to do that before, I did have Dr D's plan in my sig - but I'm very like Daisy, in the sense that I've not had a huge amount of success doing Dr D. As you can see - 15 pounds lost since last summer - hardly earth shattering success is it?:o So now, also like Daisy, I guess I am generally low carbing with probably more of an Atkins slant on it. Still trying to lost the 4 pounds I put back on over xmas and then assuming I ever manage to lose that again, I'd like to lose around another 7 pounds and get down to 9 stone. But at the moment that seems impossible:o
B - very hungry this morning don't know why - so flax bread, slice of cheese, ham AND a sausage:D
L - prob salad with cold meat and cheese
D - either roast pork or beef and maybe leeks or celeriac - altho I have been trying to go a bit more hard core with our evening meals and minimise carbs.
Have a good day everyone and stay warm
Much love to all,

Sazbo, I think I should handing out the slaps now! How can you say that 15 lb isn't very much! Just wait until I've lost that amount! I'll be singing it from the rooftops! (which may scare the neighbours a bit!) Anyway, it sounds like you didn't start from a heavy position which makes a difference!;)
Before we left the UK, both 'is nibs and me worked from home. He was in the house working on a puter and I had a workroom at the bottom of the garden complete with electric, phone, fax and wood burning stove. I loved walking all of 50 yards to go work and then listening to all the traffic reports on the radio! tee hee!
By the way, I've done that signature thingy but it hasn't appeared. I've got 'is nibs to check it and he says it all looks okay. I've probably pushed a wrong button or something. Or maybe it's snowed in and can't get out!:rotfl:
Off to sewing club now (although all the ladies there knit) but as last week I will only accept the tiniest piece of gateau when offered. xxVegetarian. Have cut out all high carb food. Not following any particular plan.Started 20/1/2009. Weight lost so far 29lbs. Target weight loss 38lb in total.0 -

Thanks Gaye:) xx
I must say working from home is far more civilised! Especially when the alternative involves a minimum of three hours travelling every day...
enjoy the sewing club:)

Sounds nice - what did you do to it?
Forgot to say I'll be having it with garlic mushrooms (just fry the mush with the garlic 'butter') as well as cauli/broc cheese. I'll be safe from Dracula tonight!!0 -
Gaye, I can see your sig
Well done newish!! It's a huge boost when you see the lbs dropping off :j
HC, I would LOVE a [strike]huge[/strike] slice of bloomer bread with my soup but I didn't miss it yesterday so I'm going to try & not think about it today. Have to say again that blob of creme fraiche made it taste extra yummy, can't wait to have it again!! Food glorious food!!:rotfl:0 -
That chicken sounds good, SS. I'm not very good at making interesting recipes up, so it's good to get inspiration from here!
I was reading in one of my LC cookbooks about using Parmesan to coat things like that. You have to grate the cheese in advance and let it dry out for a few hours, and you can then use it like breadcrumbs in the usual way for chicken Kiev, deep-fried Camembert, etc. I think I might give it a go one of these days.0 -
