Lol...course we do....I'm just in a daft mood this morning. :D
Herman - MP for all! :)
  • Good morning all :hello:
Hope everyone doing ok, alias it's good to be in a daft mood sometimes!!
Well, yesterday's snow has disappeared!! Poured down with rain last night so it's very wet this morning, quite miserable really. Got kids up for school & then found out it was closed again!! Why?? There's no snow!! Oh well, I will just have to drag them out shopping instead. Oh joy. :(
    Menu for today
    B - cheese triangle & 2 cold pork medallions
L - ham salad (reminder to self to make some more yummy coleslaw) + bowl of HM veg soup
D - garlicky chicken with cauli/broc cheese + garlic mushrooms
Have decided to go back on the blues/rasps & cream for brekkie as didn't do any harm on the weight front last week - hopefully get some today - yum!!
    Have a good day everyone.
  • Oops, forgot to say:o
Made some soup yesterday, hopefully it's low-carb. Managed to get a cooked gammon hock (I don't really know what a hock is but there was a bone?!), simmered it in boiling water for an hour & a half & then put the liquid through a sieve & added chopped leek, frozen cauli/broc/green beans & seasoned with black pepper. I let it simmer for another half an hour ish and then, in the absence of a blender, I mashed it up in the pan. It was really nice & even better with a blob of creme fraiche mixed in, so thanks for that tip Ted. I did put some of the gammon in but wasn't that fussed so spent a therapeutic 20 mins fishing it all back out again!!
So, will be adding a bowl of soup to my menu today.:D

Oooh, it's snowing again here - and settling, by the look of it!

I love soup, SS, but I've never had it while low-carbing because it would be torture to eat it without fresh crusty (proper) bread. Similarly melted Camembert. Oh yum.

    D - garlicky chicken

Sounds nice - what did you do to it?
  • Morning all,

Hope you're all keeping warm. All that talk of snow and ice makes me feel cold even though it's warmer here. BBrrrr!

Rose Elliott's book. 'is nibs did some research when I asked him to order it for me and he reckons there are two. One is the 'diet' book which also contains recipes and the other is the 'cookbook' which repeats some of the recipes and has additional ones too. He's ordered both for me (e-bay?) bless his little cotton socks. :)

In my back kitchen I have found Rose Elliott's 'vegetarian slimming'. I had forgotten I had it. Must have thought it a good idea many years ago. In there she mentions 'combination' diets one of which is combining proteins with fruit and veg but fats should be used sparingly. Is that right?

Off to the market now. Run out of all fruit and veg and olives . :)
Vegetarian. Have cut out all high carb food. Not following any particular plan.Started 20/1/2009. Weight lost so far 29lbs. Target weight loss 38lb in total.
