Hi all - no post yesterday as I had the mother of all migranes that nicely lasted til 11pm last night.

    Food today:
    B: BLT
L: ham, cheese, mushroom and spring onion omelette
    D: chicken and veg

Also had a long walk today (approx 4mile) due to taking dog to vet to see what they are going to do about his dodgy knees - think I might go and see her and see what she can do for mine as well.
    Hope your feeling better now:rolleyes:
  • Hi everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted much lately only I've been struggling a bit (I've been keeping an eye on this thread though;) )

Welcome to all the new ones:D

I love the Atkins plan and find it very easy to follow although I've hit a plateau at the moment so needed some inspiration (thanks shykins;) ).

I've been drinking sparkling water the last 3 weeks (instead of tap) and think that this has possibly hindered my weight loss.... has any one else had this problem??

    Anyway, today has gone well,

B - scrambled egg, mushrooms and mayo
L - Wraps with HM coronation chicken and lettuce
    S- 6 x oopsies cushioning 3 x burgers and mayo.

So far, 2 litres of TAP water and 5 cups of decaf coffee:)
If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

    My way is Atkins;)

How was the job offer ?

Oo, is that me?? I'll answer anyway :D Yes, good thanks - nice and early in the day, and salary was a mid-way compromise between what they were aiming for and what I was aiming for, so just as expected really. And a nice rise from what I'm used to!

Just negotiating redundancy terms now (from my old job) which could be interesting... and buying a moped of course!

Well I did get hungry at lunchtime so I ate my dinner then... and I'm still full up now! So I'm gonna restart my intermittent fasting from now on... for those who don't know, that's no eating until 6pm tomorrow, then eat when I like until 6pm the next day...

Hi sue, thanks for your help. I only have oopsies once a week, do you think it could have that much effect? How often were you eating them?

EDIT: Just had a thought, if you had problems with oopsies, then maybe its the wraps (pancakes) I make for my lunch. I have them every day. They are less than 1 carb each but have similar ingredients to the oopsies (cream cheese, cream and eggs) . I wonder:think:

I won't be getting a pedal bike, Shykins - it's 8 miles there and another 8 back!

I used to do that years ago, when I was young and working as a nurse, but I don't fancy turning up to the office all sweaty in my pencil skirts and stilhettoes...

Hi everyone, just found this thread now after a decision to get my !!! in gear, im polycystic so this is not just a bid to loose weight its a matter of health. Problems i have had personally in the past are

    1) i have a very sweet tooth- is there anything sweet which is very low carb or has anyone found anything they think is a god send?

    2) is there a carb calculator anyone uses or has found to work out eaxactly what everything contains.

i am hoping to give this a damn good shot!
keep calm and carry on :rotfl:

Ames, there are two things that save me when I need a sweet fix:
    - Sugarfree Hartleys jelly (the kids ones are awful, but their new "posh" ones are OK)
    - Sugarfree Crusha

Both are carb-free, although they can be a bit artificial-tasting but will hopefully help to wean you off. I think I can safely say we've all lost (at least partly) our sweet teeth from doing this!
