We're in the south of France. Been hit by storms yesterday. Lecky now back on but keeps 'bleeping' so it could go off again at any moment .........The gas is bottled but it's fab because it doesn't need changing very often and when it does, the tabac/petrol station is on the adjacent corner.(smiley face) (How do you do those?)Vegetarian. Have cut out all high carb food. Not following any particular plan.Started 20/1/2009. Weight lost so far 29lbs. Target weight loss 38lb in total.0

Will try yours too Badger, though not sure wot the funky ingredients are e.g agave wotsit? :rotfl:
Agave Nectar, you sausage! It comes in a bottle and looks like runny honey or syrup, but it's actually a plant-based product, more "natural" (i.e. less processed) than most sweeteners. I think the carb count is roughly equivalent to Splenda but it has a nicer tasteIn all major supermarkets, it's stocked with the sweeteners next to the sugar, and several also stock it in their "Free From" aisle.
The other ingredients can be substituted for "normal" stuff I guess:
- non-dairy milk; use any milk you like!
- egg replacer powder; I use this for baking when my chickens are in low production, but the recipe can be done with 2 eggs instead
- Hemp protein powder; Can use ground flax or more almond here if you like - the hemp is just particularly good for its additional protein boost (I usually eat these as a "quick breakfast" at my desk).
Mum, the quick way to do a smiley face is to type " : ) " without a space inbetween - it will automatically change when you post. To do the clever ones, just click on "go advanced" instead of "quick reply" - you'll see them on the right...Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
Hi all, Sorry I havnt checked in for a while, has been a busy weekend.
B (12pm.. hubby left me to lie in bless him) Atkins Bar
L - 3 Scrabled eggs w/ cheese
T - Beef stew with cabbage and broccoli
S - Atkins bar and squirty chocolate cream
I came a bit unstuck again today. We have a toddler who is getting increasingly fussy with his food so have decided to make a conscious effort to eat as a family in the evenings. So starting yesterday this means me and hubby are having tea at 5, rather than at 8.30 when we would normally. So by normal tea time comes round we are both absolultey starving. He did go and get some chicken balls from the chinese yesterday and we had them for 2nd tea, but managed with just an atkins bar tonight. Think it will take some getting used to eating earlier.
Was quite worried id messed up big style with the chicken balls but ketostix were pink again by this afternoon so may have just about got away with it.. weigh in on tuesday will tell.
I got a slow cooker on friday, after reading all the recipes on the other thread. Had paprika pork yesterday and beef stew today. Any more easy slow cooker low carb ideas? Im doing bolognese tomorrow I think.
Oh !!!!!!.. just realised I havnt got the mince out of the freezer.. maybe salad tomorrow and bolognese tuesday then lol.

Hi guys! Start of another week today. Bit fed up to see only 1 lb off this week after the last 2 weeks being so good for me. However that 1 lb means I have reached my first stone today. Yay!
I'm a bit puzzled why it was only a 1lb mind you, after my blip with the Atkins bars earlier, I've been very careful and I've even been walking a lot more AND going on the Wii Fit so I would have thought that would have done something too.
Oh well, onwards and downwards as someone else here said.
Congrats to Badger and Pilly btw. :T
Hope you all have an easy day at work and aren't tempted to pick if you're at home.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Good morning everyone, day 15 & weigh day for me!!
Well, this week I lost ............. 1lb!! Snap aliasojo!! I was disappointed too but at least it went down and not up!!
Think my problem this week was chilli on Friday & Saturday had kidney beans in so quite high carb? Also, last night the curry sauce was out of a jar & it was low-fat so probably had loads of sugar & salt instead  . Another also, I have felt a bit 'congested' (thanks to whoever coined that phrase!!) for the last couple of days - think I need to try this fibresure!!
Anyway, menu for today
B - rasps/blues & cream
L - salad - maybe tuna mayo?
D - ??
I also need to up the water intake, haven't been drinking much this weekend (apart from the red wine of course :rotfl: )
Hello newbies & returners & the rest of you!! :hello:0 -
ok i am gonna slap u lot, sorry but i am!!!>. whats all this i ONLY lost a pound u lost for petes sake AND eat stuff u liked all the time so just stop it with the onlys or else!!!!!!!!
i find i lose better with plenty of water so drink up, still got this tum bug tho maybe i should weigh myself might get a nice surprise lol
rainbow cant u put the kids back to 5.30 so its a bit later for all of you?? if u get hungry in the evening have a piece of cheese or some pate lettuce wraps or something thats what i do,,, re the slowcooker u can make just about any of the recipes on the thread just leave out the spuds, put in extra veg then half hour before the end take out a load of veg whiz them up and add them back to thicken
gaye glad u got your power back i was wandering where u were too but all answered now lol... dont u have a few smiles to the right of the reply post area when u are typing?
mercy very naughty!!! tho KFC is hard to resist the breading i do agree
a word of warning about the atkins bars they do stall a loto f people so dont be surprised if yr loss is less than u expect or even stops when u are eating them, the same could be said with the goodies made with almond flour, sweeteners etc.... i know they are nice but they CAN affect loss
xWhen you know better you do better0 -
Ouch, that slap hurt!!:rotfl:
I know you are right though, it's going in the right direction!!0 -
Badger, well done on 9lbs this year already! And :rotfl:to your exploding egg!
Shykins, I think I shall definitely eat before the party. Otherwise I might not be able to trust myself not to dig into the naughties
I'm a member of the 'only lost a pound this week' club too. I'm pretty pleased with that, though - especially after my pizza bender last Tuesday. The 4lb water gain has come off, plus another pound. Just over 4 months ago I weighed in at 12 st 7 lb - not a pretty sight when you're 5' 1". Now I'm 10 st 1 lb, and I can't wait to see the first 9st something, even if it's 9st 13.5!
Yesterday for me:
B: none
L: sausages, mushrooms, cherry tomato, eggmoussaka, cabbage
S: I was like a hungry hog yesterday and had bits of ham and cheese, several spoonfuls of OH's melted Camembert (but managed to stop myself pinching any of his crusty bread :A), cream cheese piled on cucumber rounds, and I was hoping for strawberries and cream after dinner but they'd gone mouldy. So I had a cup of hot chocolate from the Atkins cookbook. Oh my goodness, it was utterly divine, and I felt very satisfied afterwards. (If anyone wants the recipe, let me know.)
Have a good week, everyone!0 -

Ok Mum.Very sorry. I will try to be more positive in future. :rotfl:
I lost a pound! Yay!Was that ok?I think you're right about the Atkins bars and the home made goodies btw so I'm going to try to stick to 'proper' (iykwim) foods and save the other things for when I'm feeling desperate. 'Cos I know it's gonna happen.Herman - MP for all!0
