the feedback for the lemon cheesecake stuff is in -

was ok - not cheesy enough bit too creamy so ratios need tweaking and the base didnt have enough butter in so didnt glue together and wasnt cooked quite long enough

other than that - was great !!

tired and a bit grumpy here :(

It's awful when the first go isn't what you were expectin. try not to be grumpy, it gives you bile (apparently) which will never do. :)

Think of a beach, imagine the warmth of a benign sun, with your eyes closed the world is a warm pink and relaxing place.

    That's what I do, anyway :D

Can't be bothered with concentratin on cookin. Gona polish off the last 2 hotdogs and join you on the beach!

mercy these sound great but you do make me laugh !!!
i have attempted a type of lemon cheesecake for dessert tonight - will report back

now ladies i need to talk about wind !! - one of the nice side effects of low carbing - esp in our men folk - is the lack of noxious gases otherwise known as bottom burps
if we start farting - we know its a sign we have overdone the carbs
however since the fibresure still isnt really doing the job - i having a bit of a windy problem - lots of farting !! its not good

im drinking loads and everything so i dont know what the problem is !! least there not smelly ones tho......lol

If the farting is uncomfortable before release (:rotfl:sorry) try some mint tea. It really helps get wind out of the way quicksmart esp if of the uncomfortable nature. I have recently (thanks to self administered but late reacting laxative) experienced the same thing. It wasn't a cure but a boon at the time.

Can't offer a 'why' but hope that helps.

  • Morning all, menu for yesterday;

B- scrambled eggs, 2 turkey rashers, 1 fried tom

L- left over cabbage and mince wraps with chilli sauce

D- feta salad, carrot and celery sticks with hummous, banana and dbl cream

snack- Atkins pancakes! I used the Beowolf recipe on youtube but put protein powder in instead of the Atkins stuff. They were like vanilla flavoured omelettes!

Next to do re the oopsies. Ah, to spread butter on something again.......and even make a sandwich. :j

BTW, which cream cheese do yous use in your recipes? I could only find Quark but it's fat free, then there was all the Philidelphia type stuff. Would mascapone work?

Also, wanna try those choc biccies, Mercy. Do you just get almond flour from health food shops?

    Badgerlady- how's your chest now?

for oopsies i use the own label cream cheese that looks like philadelphia dont think other cheeses like ricotta would work

hope all the grumpies are over it now

oh and cauli/potato ricer in tchibo this week i think was 14.99 not cheap but they seem to be hard to find

have friends for lunch today they are having tuna jackets i am just having tuna .. oh and m&s profiteroles for pud but i shall resist!!!

Hia Pilly! I went to the Doctor's yesterday and she gave me a course of antibiotics and an inhaler (I haven't had asthma for years but apparently it's a stigma for life!), so I'm taking those now... still very chesty cough and general tiredness at the moment. But I've got this interview booked for tomorrow morning, so have to keep battling on!

On a cheerier note, I measured my BMI yesterday and for the first time in my life I'm not overweight! I fall into the category of "normal weight" at last :rotfl: Even when I was a slim 14-yr-old I was supposedly "overweight", and this time last year I was "obese", so pretty happy with that :)

Which puts me officially on maintenance, so I'm now concentrating on finding food I'll be happy to eat for the rest of my life. Today's menu:

    - Hardboiled egg from the chooks, Greek yoghurt with a drizzle of honey, mug of green tea and a portion of fruit (today is 4 cherries)

    - Vine leaves stuffed with vege-mince, olives, homemade humous and tzatziki with cucumber strips for dipping  and a satsuma or two.

    - Tofu/veg stirfry with seaweed strips, followed by "instant whip" (my no-carb, high protein recipe)

  • Good morning all, day 11.
B - a lonely piece of ham so far - very disorganised & have no eggs, bacon, sausages, fruit etc :@(
L - salad or whatever I can get from shops
    D - Chicken & mushroom stroganoff with broc/cauli
Well done Badger for getting to 'normal weight' & hope you feel better very soon. Good luck with 3rd interview!!
Shykins what is tchibo? Sounds like a sneeze!!
Think I might go & have some jelly fool now, a piece of ham is just not going to suffice!!

badger hope u feel better soon and well done on being 'normal', good luck for the interview maybe they will make a decision at last!!!

saz thats hardly stupid we all do it its called instant gratification ie something we dont need but we feel we 'deserve' it so have it, like the masses who still went to the pub while they were starving... oops ok off me psychology stool

can u tell i am sat here twiddling my thumbs cos both friends are coming a bit later than planned la la la la... off to wander round MSE
