  • Just read this article thought you all might like to see it. It is new research showing that low carb diets could be better than low calorie!:j

Sweet - Yes 61 is very high and mine is also in the 30's. The skinny girl really did look so much nicer with the weight she had put on. And that larger lady looked really happy - quite a sparkle in her eyes

Just made my first mistake - ate a whole avocado before I checked it's carbs which appear to be around 14.5. As I am only supposed to be on 20 a day I won't make that mistake again!

  • Hi all, just to post my menu for yesterday;

B- Bowl of chopped banana, strawberries, walnuts, plain soya yoghurt, flaxseed powder, flaked almonds and cinnamon (phew!)

L- Fish in parsley sauce, cauli with cheese on top and peas

D- Cabbage leaf wraps stuffed with mince and stuff.

Supper- sml bowl strawberries, banana and dbl cream. A failed Paleo pancake thingy, which just tasted of soggy egg! : ( 2 tangerines.

Well at least I seem to be getting my 5 a day which is a 1st! Could never ever eat that much fruit and veg before.

Mercy- Did you sort out your "congestion"? :D

YT- Yeah watched it. At 1st I was like "these lasses are nurses, they should know better, would you go to a dentist who had bad teeth etc etc....." but. as we all know, food can be like a drug and there's almost always a reason, psychologically, why people over or undereat (inc me in the past). Sometimes eating a whole pack of biscuits or box of chocs is the equivalent of needing a hug and seeking comfort.
That's why I'm against people having bariatric surgery (only in exeptional circumstances) like the woman last night, cos she's still got the same mind-set, just a tennis ball sized stomach! Drs never ever seem interested in the reasons why and they seem incapable (not all but most) of looking at that person holistically, just from a physical perspective. They're just an illness or a set of symptoms.
Right, that's my "putting the world to rights" speech over :rotfl: I'm off out while the sun's out. Have a good day y'all. x

Hey there my little low carb munchkins!

    As promised

Chocolate biscuits in a low carb stylee

    100g Almond Flour
    35g Butter
    1 ave Egg white
    2 tsp Splenda
    2 tsp Vanilla Extract
    2 tsp Cocoa

warm butter in bowl in micro
    add almonds
add rest and mix til it’s a uniform shade J

Iine baking tray with greaseproof paper
Split mix into 8 balls and arrange on greaseproof paper
    (I find 3,2,3 formation best)
Take a piece of greaseproof paper and place over ball no1
Press into biscuit shape with bottom of a mug or fingers
    Repeat until all flatted out

Bake at around 175’C til done. You can’t go off the golden brown giveaway as these are brown anyway J Mine took about 15 mins and were approx 5mm at deepest in centre. If thicker may take longer.

Cool on rack and they go crispy. Nice warm and cold.

These are quite filling and the only real difference with regular biscuits is they squeak a bit on one’s teeth J

I use Bournville cocoa and the results above give 1g carb per tasty biscuit, YUM!

Hope you are all well n happy!

Shykins, thanks for the Boots tip, will get some at weekend.

    TTFN, big shop looming

edit: just read it back, I'm so definitely a Chemist it's scary :)

mercy these sound great but you do make me laugh !!!
i have attempted a type of lemon cheesecake for dessert tonight - will report back

now ladies i need to talk about wind !! - one of the nice side effects of low carbing - esp in our men folk - is the lack of noxious gases otherwise known as bottom burps
if we start farting - we know its a sign we have overdone the carbs
however since the fibresure still isnt really doing the job - i having a bit of a windy problem - lots of farting !! its not good

im drinking loads and everything so i dont know what the problem is !! least there not smelly ones tho......lol

Well that was a waste of time and energy.
!**$%$%£**!!!! ASDA! Why stay open THAT long when there's nowt on the shelves???!!!!!!!!!

    Background
I do a big shop 1ce a month and get taxi back. Mainly because of the sheer amout of catfood req to keep my lovelies from mitherin me to death. I generally need to marshall my forces (a la tv magician) to be ars*d. involves many reuseable bags and motivation.

Imagine my chagrin when there was NO cat food that wasn't unreasonably priced!!!

Had to abandon venture. Not best pleased as it is belting down with rain tonight. SO out of sorts with this, (I mean like REALLY narked) forgot to get anything to eat for my tea.

Have stuffed down 4 hotdog type sausies (1.5 carbs per 100g, the only light at this point in my miserable world) as I was ravenous and could not be bothered cooking as soon as I got in.

Then feeling a bit better (can't maintain bad vibes) I remembered that the lovely lass on the til has offered me 11 cans of Whiskas as her cat won't touch it. Pickin up t time Friday. :D And that I got a lot of smiles in the accursed place, well I was wearing lipstick!

Asda might be (is) crepe but the staff at our local branch are lovely!:rotfl:

    OK, rant over!

Think I may have another biscuit adventure, quite back to my usual self.:rotfl:

Sorry you can't do nuts, shykins. Don't like to think where I'd be without 'em.

Daisy, glad I make you laugh tis good to spread smilies :D

Everybody, there's light in the darkest places, see above :rotfl:

    Big love
