Hi,
Many thanks fro all the welcomes.
Avstar - As you say once they caught a whiff of my egg and bacon for breakfast, they were most keen to join in with this way of eating, which i'm happy with, any idea how much extra carbs teenagers need?(they are not huge carb fans anyway).

What is this complaining about the counting of cherry tomatoes?? Talking of which, I had 3 (three, III, trois) or was it 4 (four, IV, quatre) earlier, with cucumber, gorgonzola and Tickler. Very yummy, especially as they were gorgeous M&S ones, half price because on their sell-by.
I make cauli mash a lot, and I also find it very wet because I boil, rather than steam or microwave, it. My solution is to boil and whizz it (both of which can be done in advance), then put it back in the saucepan over a very low heat (with a diffuser, if poss) so that some of the water evaporates and it thickens a little. Then it has a bit more body.
Shykins, hope you feel better soon. I know precisely what you mean about a warzone. How we love our kids, but...
I tried two new recipes today. The first was a low-carb microwaved bread from Rose Elliott made from ground almonds and eggs. The less said about that the better.
Secondly, I made oopsies. Tell me, those of you who eat them (I know Tink does), what do you eat them with? I thought they were very pleasant - crisp and light - but I'm not sure how they fit in, as it were. With my first bite I thought, 'These would be nice with some Splenda.' They also reminded me of (tasteless) Yorkshire puddings. It occurred to me that they would be nice in a bread and butter pudding (SF, of course) too, rather like brioche. Or, sweetened, with strawberries and cream. In short, I thought they were very odd, if pleasant, and didn't know quite what to make of them.
Today:
B: oopsies
L: cucumber, tomatoes x 4 (four, IV, quatre), couple of different cheesesmoussaka*, cabbage, wine
You may have already deduced the last entry from the length of my post, and its rambly properties. :rotfl:
*Allow me to drivel at length with regard to the IPD Cookbook's moussaka. How did I ever live without it? This recipe alone, perhaps along with Blue Cheesy Leeks, is worth the price of the book. I make it at least once or twice a fortnight and have tweaked the recipe to my own ends: add nutmeg, eschew water for red wine, cut down on topping - and even then I can't see how any human could eat a whole portion!

hc... it wasnt the kids it was 2 seperated parents arguing over access, some sense was needed ,, lol like i talk sense!!!... anyways i eat my oopsies as a sort of roll so just use as u woudl a bread roll, tho there are lots of variations and u can even make some puds and as i said earlier i did see a doughnut oopsie
bear in mind those of u doing atkins induction that alot of the recipes include almond flour and thats not until u get onto OWL
i use a potato ricer for the cauli as it gets all the water out before it starts ricing.. u can also fry the cauli rice ala egg fried rice
brunch... egg, sausage, mushroom, bacon
dinner... 2 oopsie cheese and tomato rolls

Hi HC:D
I put burgers in my oopsies (with lots of cheese and mayo) and cos I'm very greedy, I use 2 oopsies per burger (one on the top and one on the bottom). That way, they're extra large and extra lush;) . I have also just used them to make sandwiches as its nice and simple for work/snack.
HC, would there be any chance of you posting the recipe for mousaka (when you have chance) as I have searched the pig2twig website and although its mentioned loads, I can't find it
I've had an ok day:rolleyes:
B-scrambled egg and mushrooms
L-ham omlette
S-beansprouts and turkey curry (which was a tesco ja sauce and it was horrible:mad: )
Snack - just the burger (wiped all the sauce off with a napkin) from hubby's BK Angus Burger:D and no tomatoes!!
Not so much coffee today but plenty of water;)If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.
My way is Atkins0
