Yes it's fine, Just eat the sandwich fillings don't eat the bread. It's really quite nice eating ham and cheese. I do it all the time.

Yes Ted I like that too but what I was questioning is the fact that she says with butter and being curious and pedantic I wondered if she meant butter the ham.:D
I like to take a large slice of ham and spread it with cream cheese, roll it up and slice into bite size bits mmmmmmmmm.
    She also says
Cauliflower cooked in cream, then mixed with some salt and pepper, is better tasting than mashed potatoes![/url]Cauli can be quite wet so I tend to turn it into rice in the processor then put that chopped up small pieces of cauli in a sealed microwaveable container and zap until it's done then slop in some cream/butter salt/pepper and mash.

Funnily enough I watched the video of making rice from cauli earlier today- interesting.
I think you have to think of it as different from mashed potato but OK. The secret it to try to dry off the cauli as much as possible and not use any when you microwave it. Otherwise it can go very sloshy.

I'm going to have a ploughman's lunch for my dinner mature cheddar, lettuce, pickled onions, tomato - no bread.

  • Hi All

I just wanted to ask if I could join in the low carb diet?

Still stuck in bed with the flu although feeling a little better today hence able to read forums.... I really need to lose a lot of weight as it has just piled on in the last 6 months and I was not slim in the first place!

I think I shall try the Dr D diet ( I am right in assuming that the only information available is the short list of good foods and those to avoid - the rest of the page seems to be in another language....)

Have just spoke to DD (16) when she got in from school and she will join in too so that should make it easier.

Weight loss - 7lbs from the 41 I need to loose = 34 to go

Sure that was all I used. Although I did start reading other Low Carb Forums You can read, or have a good guess at the rest of Dr D's website by using Google Translate just cut the link to the page you want and paste it into the google box.

I found using coconut oil (not to hot a flame when frying as it spits) made a difference, if you've got a local indian corner shop that's the cheapest place to find it.

OK I hold my hand up - I posted cherry tomatoes x 2 :rotfl:

But there was an outcry over a lonely cherry tomato a couple of days ago so I didn't want anyone to think I was being cruel to cherry toms :D I don't count them - I only had 2 left honest!

    Oh and welcome methekidsandthecat!

    Well done you. :D

Hiya methekidsandthecat. Hope you shake the flu off soon and can settle in here comfortably...after all it's going to be home for the next wee while. ;)

I've just had plain steamed chicken with a little salad (no toms at all, lol) and some cauli and cream cheese sauce. I'm surprised how stuffed I am and the portion size was quite small.

There are two cauli floretts and some cheese sauce left. Can the sauce be reheated given that it's made with cream?
