Will have chicken stir fry for Dinner with strawbs and cream.
Now then, this is day 4 and I'm still getting headaches and felt VERY strange this morning briefly (sort of faint).
I'm also physically exhausted. Is this right?
I should mention that my dad died on Tuesday, which complicates things.
Awwwww, AB. I'm so sorry to hear that. I know how difficult the last few months have been for you all. I'll be thinking of you and your family.
The feelings you've had are normal during induction - they shouldn't last more than a couple of days. Are you eating/drinking enough?0 -

That's normal aurora.
Sorry to hear about your Dad. Keep strong.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Tink......does the mixture kinda look a bit like scambled eggs at one point....and are you supposed to whisk until all the liquid is thicker.
My whisk attachment snapped so I've just tried to whisk it with a beater attachment thing but I did it at an angle so it would incorporate more air.....it doesn't look right though. I gave up after ages but there was still liquid left that wasn't thick.
Doesn't really matter mind you as I'm gonna eat it anyway. Even if I have to do it with a straw.
It didn't really thicken for me - and I whisked it with a hand mixer for about 10 minutes!
It was lovely and fluffy though
Chuck it in the fridge and see how it is when it sets0 -

I'm eating it now.
It went like scrambled eggs when they separate and the egg 'bits' have juice in the pan. It's not light and fluffy.
I'm gonna put the rest in the freezer and make it a nibble chunk. :rotfl:
I will try again tomorrow.Herman - MP for all!0 -

LCHF and cancer A DahlQvist.
Probably, arificial fats, industrially made margarines, and inflammation-inducing omega-6 oils (eg corn oil and sunflower oil) have a negative effect on the cell's defense against carcinogens.
The Cell Membrane is built mainly by fat, and those artificial fats are wrong for the cell and cause it to malfunction.
This means that these fats increase the risk of cancer.
Although many chemicals in the E-numbers is likely to increase cancer.
Medicines, as lipid-lowering statins, has also been shown to increase the risk of cancer onset.
When you have got cancer the cancer cells have been fattened by carbohydrates.
Cancer cells can only use sugar as energy, they cannot burn fat.
Otto Warburg received the Nobel Prize already in 1931 for this discovery.
High insulin levels have been shown to stimulate cancer formation and development.
This is in line with the fact that diabetics type2 have a many times increased risk of cancer of all kinds.
The low fat carbohydrate-rich diet, with margarine and edible oils, can cause cancer by fattening cancer cells.
This is my version of the google translate version of Annika's latest blog posting.
Annika provided this link to Fatlies blog on the same subject
This is the section that interested me but I'm sure your all aware that the link between Cancer and Low Vitamin D status is such old news I can't credit why anyone chooses to put themselves in the low Vit d high cancer risk groups.
Cell breathing
Our cells need energy to live and perform its essential tasks. They generate energy mainly through the metabolism of oxygen and glucose (blood sugar). Glucose is absorbed by the cells with the help of insulin.
As for various reasons, not enough oxygen in a cell, the cell's last resort to produce energy to switch from aerobic to anaerobic respiration (without oxygen). It is not the cancer cells that may be to switch to anaerobic respiration, but on the contrary. It is prolonged anaerobic respiration that makes normal cells into cancer cells.
When the cells stop breathing in a normal way does the absence of oxygen to glucose begins to ferment instead of "burnt", and thus the glucose is converted to lactic acid. It is the way that cancer cells create their own energy. The glucose fermentation cancer cells must work much harder. For a cancer cell to have the same energy as a normal cell, it must translate at least 18 times more glucose. In fact, annual sales of fast-growing malignant tumor cells 200 times as large amount of glucose in normal tissues.
Glucose is, in fact, cancer cells primary energy source, and cancer cells have as much as 10 times more insulin receptors on the cell to get as many entrances to glucose as possible. Cancer cells consume 10 times more glucose than healthy cells, and stealing energy from the body's normal cells. It is one of the main reasons for cancer are declining in importance as the disease progresses.
Many know that insulin works by lowering blood sugar. But there is only one of insulin function. The insulin also controls cell intake of other substances, such as fat. Insulin key role in cancer is that it increases DNA replication. Insulin stimulates cell growth and therefore cell division. Insulin drives the development of cancer, for all types of cancer, but especially breast and colon cancer. Insulin also inhibits cell death.
Cancer cells produce and secrete their own insulin so that they can have unlimited access to glucose. The insulin they secrete called insulin-like growth-factor, or IGF, and it gives cancer cells an unlimited driver of growth. Cancer cells also have ten times more receptors for IGF on their cell membranes, the same as for insulin receptors. The ability to bind insulin and absorb glucose increases therefore enormous.
The more glucose in the blood, and the more insulin used by the body, the more growth and vitality of the cancer.
This is a very simplified picture, but by and large, it is the way it works. So what can you do?
There is nothing that is more effective than a proper diet. So, for God's sake, stop eating SUGAR! But it is to know that sugar is available in many different forms *.
Training, both aerobic and anaerobic, is important in this context. Training is one of the factors that determine insulin sensitivity and the degree to which the blood coming out of muscles. The training increases blood flow and oxygenation, and insulin sensitivity. Training therefore reduces the need for insulin and glucose in the blood.
I then thought I'd have a look at the evidence myself and found these.
Prevalence and Trends of Receipt of Cancer Screenings Among US Women with Diagnosed DiabetesThis recent paper supports Annika's claim that Diabetes increases the risk of breast and colorectal cancers and has a possible relationship to cervical cancer.
Glycemic index, glycemic load, and cancer risk: a meta-analysis
Conclusion: This comprehensive meta-analysis of GI and GL and cancer risk suggested an overall direct association with colorectal and endometrial cancer.
Carbohydrate intake, glycemic index, glycemic load, and risk of postmenopausal breast cancer in a prospective study of French womenConclusions: Rapidly absorbed carbohydrates are associated with postmenopausal breast cancer risk among overweight women and women with large waist circumference. Carbohydrate intake may also be associated with estrogen receptor–negative breast cancer.
So it looks like there may well be reasons other than just weight loss for having a low carbohydrate intake. So when people ask you if you are worried about the long term consequences of low carb eating you can point them to the lower risk of certain cancers. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Sending my sympathy too Aurora.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)
