I am still wading through the huge amount of information out there

I have to be very careful to not harm OH as I said diabetes and recent heart attack and barrage of drugs.

Anyway all you experienced people will surely tell me off if this has already been posted but since there are a few newbies like me I found this site very good, follow ALL the red links to do with it and as you go through there are LOTS. I've taken lots of info from there and put it into a word doc so it's easier for me to read in one go.

the link below was given to me by a friend from The Good Enough Club and contains lots of recipes

pulses are bad :p but so are the peas and corn :p:p

sorry couldnt resist - pulses are one of the things i struggle with not having myself tbh - i love kidney bean and chick peas and all that sort of stuff - haricot beans have the lowest carb count from what i can read on the labels so i use them in chilli - 1 can in a 7 litre pot full

brekkie - bacon egg and half a normal well pretty large actually tomato - no cherry thang going on here !!
lunch - an egg wrap thingy filled with ham mayo and mixed salad - jury is still out on this one tasted ok i think but completely fell apart on me
dinner - lc sausages with gravy and cabbage green beans brocolli with a small dollop of swede and carrot mash so you can me off now pink !!
snacks - clementine pate and cucumber

will have left over mousse thing later

Oh I've messed up. I tried a recipe for corned beef hash off the Atkins site. (Just so you all know......I'm not a cook. I hate cooking at the best of times. )

Anyway, my version turned out NOTHING like the picture, in fact it was more corned beef MUSH than hash. :rotfl: I also didn't realise it was to serve 4. :o I ate half of it. It was very filling. :D

Apparently Heinz do a low carb tom sauce btw so might look out for that. Don't know how low carb it actually is mind you.

Adouki beans are pretty good, if you need beans! Lower than average carbs and very high in protein...

not really hun coz GI is a way of ranking carbohydrates according to how rapidly they impact blood glucose... so a lower GI food like wholewheat spaghetti might affect blood sugar less rapidly than white rice, but both are still high in terms of carb content... lol if that makes any sense?

    yes, indeed so :D

daisy - tbh they aren't really on a par with proper chips, but an adequate substitute of sorts, I guess!

ok celeriac chips report is in,,, not bad lol. basically i tossed them in oil, salt and pepper and bunged them in the oven actually i would say they tasted like parsnips and on checking the carb count its higher that i would normally have on induction... would do them again tho and definitely might add some chilli or something to spice them up a bit

lord i am STILL hungry tho and cant make up my mind what to eat as the cupboards are bare (not been shoppin since before chrimbo).. have had more than enough cheese and pate today .. ideas please??!!
