Right the best laid plans of mice and men and all that and I have now got to be a good girl cos my 2lb leeway plan went to poo big style yesterday. It might have been the choccie or it could have been the chips and dip:o But I've put 4lb on not 2 and so now I need to get back with the programme and lose it again.Slice of cheese anyone:rotfl: ??

Happy new year to you too, Sue hun! And to all you lovely folk here

I've put on about 4 lbs too, lesley:o Says me, sat here at my desk with a coffee and cheese croissant from Pret! I blame the weather:o And I can't swear that champagne won't touch my touch my lips at midnight tonight either:o But none of this will happen again for the entire rest of this year I promise!:D

    Have a great day everyone!

    Much love,

Sazz I believe you millions wouldnt but I do:rotfl:

well its new years eve and I'm letting the tinies stay up to see the new year in if they last that long.I suspect yd and ys will be fast asnooze long before then :rotfl:.So I'm planning a late buffet to feed everyone, been to Asda this morning for supplies and got pizza etc for the damned carb eaters and I've got loads of cooked meats and posh cheeses for me.AF arrived this morning so that might explain the weight blip.Either that or the chips and dip:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great night tonight whatever you're doing and if you're out and about remember to keep safe and I know its preaching but dont drink and drive:beer:

    Happy New Year, everyone!

Like Shykins, I haven't been receiving notifications either. I haven't been checking the thread over the holiday, so I've just read through the last few pages of posts.

Welcome to the new contributors, and good luck! :)

Re: Diet Coke - I know it's just a chemical cocktail but it's yummy and I drank it all through, and it didn't seem to stall my weight loss in any way, so you need to make up your own mind. It doesn't seem to have encouraged my sweet tooth either - I don't have any sugar cravings to speak of. The sweetest thing I have is strawberries (with a little Splenda) and cream, or SF jelly once a week or so. However, I certainly drink much less DC now - evenings only, and even then I have some water as well.

OH is NOT going on to insulin. I can't tell you how relieved we are. The additional evening tablet he was prescribed just before Christmas seems to have worked a miracle, and his BG is now down to 6 or 7 most of the time.

I've been pretty good food-wise over the holiday period. I had a little of everything at Christmas lunch, and the odd mouthful here and there at other times, but generally speaking I've stuck to it. Rivers of wine and champagne though, I must admit. That's stopping from today. :( I'll weigh on Monday, but I've definitely maintained at the very least, and I think I've lost a pound or two over the last fortnight. Ill-deserved, but very nice! I was worried about what medium I'd use to transfer vast quantities of cheese and pate to my eager mouth, but found that rounds of cucumber worked brilliantly and were my saving grace!

I had so many compliments at get-togethers about looking great that my head spun, and so it's really given me the inspiration to stick at it and lose some more. I've even bought some new clothes - just a few things. :)

Well done to everyone who maintained over the holiday. And even if a few pounds have crept on, they'll come off as quickly as they arrived. Best wishes to everyone for a fabulous 2009! :)

    Happy New Year, all!

I hosted a small party in my basement last night, and did a buffet of smoked tofu, olives, slicing sausage, cheese cubes and ginger cake (4 out of 5 ain't bad!). I did start off on the Brut, then had some vodka and water... I had to stop drinking when my housemate accidentally topped it up with lemonade, eurgh!

But I'm really writing to tell you about my hangover cure... when I was in Tesco this week they had a new soya milk in the fresh section called "Soya Magic", including "Soya Magic Light (unsweetened)" on an introductory price of 99p per litre. I've just cracked the light one open and it tastes amazing! Sort of creamy and with none of that usual soya aftertaste... definitely by far the best soya milk I've tried (and I've had a few in my time).
