:rotfl: Yep, you're unique Ted! I mean - in a good way!:D
Hello everybody :hello: Just a quickie hi coz it's my last day at work until after xmas (Yay! :j) and I've got loads to do. And I've already had the builder in a headlock today, so that hasn't helped my mood... or his, I suspect!:o :rotfl:
As Gilly said, we had a four-day weekend and let's just say... it wasn't a carb-free zone!:o Gone slightly off the rails, but trying to incorporate damage limitation measures!:D
Hope you're all ok.
Much love to everyone

Lovely Recipes:
Dinner:
Grill/fry some steak until done the way you like it, grill some bacon - lay the bacon over the top of the steak and grate some cheese onto the top while still hot so it melts. Serve with coleslaw or butternut squash - I lost loads using this meal!!
Lunch:
Get yourself a variety of baby leaf salad - Asda and Tesco do some lovely varieties and also have pre prepared ones in bags that are lovely. Chop half an avocado, grill some bacon until its crispy then chop it into really small pieces. Throw it all together then over the top drizzle some olive oil and balsamic vinegar - delicous. You can pop it all into a lunch box and take it into work too if need be!
Breakfast:
Cook some sausages and bacon. Whisk 2 eggs with some milk, add a pinch of salt and a small bit of butter is you wish. Pour the egg mix into frying pan on medium setting sprinkle over the bacon and sausage and grate some cheese into it. Once the bottom has cooked pop the frying pan under the grill. Grate some more cheese onto the top and cook until browned and egg firm. Enjoy!
Treat:
80% Cocoa chocolate - one square with a cup of tea or coffee - yum!
Mattesons fridge raiders - yummy!!
I lost 20lbs on a low carb diet and I am now 9st 10lbs - very pleased! Good luck to you all - you can so do it!!!0 -
Thanks for the recipes montymud! :T That's very similar to the lunch that me and o/h take to work everyday. We tend to supplement it with a bit of whatever cold meat we have in the fridge. But I do love avocado and bacon:) And we are rather partial to Lindt or G&B's 85% cocoa chocolate:)

your very welcome, yep the salad has variants, whatever you prefer - like you said some cold meat from the fridge is yummy! I love the Lindt dark chocolate you eat aswell, its such a nice treat!0

Oh dear, not a good start - I have been very poorly today (got the flu coming on I think) so have been eating what I feel well enough to eat.. unfortunately mostly carbs, damn! Will try and start again tomorrow.
Was just wondering; have any of you ever dramatically reduced carb intake to 'kick start' your body into ketosis - ie meat and eggs? I know obviously this is not an ideal solution but I have found it helpful before to kickstart my induction phase and I'm considering doing this for a day or two.0 -
oohj saz lucky u no more work til after chrimbo,, hope u and gilly have a great one
monty thanks for the recipes always nice to have more ideas and well done on yr weightloss!!!
tilly yes ihave done meat and eggs but for no more than 3 days at a time and believe me it is boring and hard to stick to... hope u feel better today, i usually have home made soup when i feel rough theres always some in the freezer as i make a big batch at a time
almar i would check the carb count on the veggie sausages as they often contain a lot of breading as fillers, if u are doing atkins induction then grapefruit isnt allowed sorry... i do have some lowcarb cookbooks but to be honest as u say most of its natural and if u want to try something u can easily get the info off the net (like this thread)
brrr looks like snow out there but its actually a hard frost. white christmas anyone?

Hia Tilly... I've been a bit fluey lately as well, and almost everything I think about eating makes me feel queasy! Sometimes I feel I should eat it anyway, but I instantly feel over-stuffed...
I'm finding eggs the easiest thing to eat, funny enough... I get them fresh from my chickens anyway, and either hard boil them to take to work or scramble them when I'm at home. I have cravings for bread too, which I indulge with plenty of butter - my body quickly remembers why it isn't normally allowed it and the cravings stop!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
Three months in, two stone lost... and for the first time I've gone seriously off-piste.
Was it with a fine beef Wellington, I hear you ask. Perhaps I just couldn't resist potatoes Dauphinoise. Maybe I lost control at the smell of home-baked bread. All quite understandable
Nope.
It was a chicken Caesar wrap.
From a petrol station.
At midnight.
But I enjoyed every mouthful, and it's back on track for me today.
Been busy for the last few days, but have just read everyone's great posts. Lovely recipes, Monty!0 -
thanks all, I have a few more that I will post soon! Well done everyone, don't worry HC everyone slips up sometimes at least you didn't go off on a mad bender!!0
