theres lots of evidence in the states of diabetics being put on lowcarb diets but in this country it doesnt seem to be, sorry hes feelin so bad HC maybe u could try again to persuade him as nothing else seems to be working at the moment, dont worry about whinging we all do at times...fingers crossed for daughter HC
ravy hope he/she is feeling better no fun before christmas
badger/sue if u have been working out more u will find yr shape will have changed much more than what the scales would reveal, i actually gained weight and dropped a size
as for getting stuck well i was stuck at 11st7 for about a year, i did drop down but unfortuinately cant recommend how i did it cos i was very ill and went down to 9st which looked horrible, u could try a few days of meat and eggs to get going again or cutting dairy or adding fat there are so many different ways that people have tried u just have to see which works for u but if u have only not lost for a couple weeks then i wouldnt worry andjust keep doing what u have been doing til it gets to a couple months
oh forgot to say went to the carol singalong concert at the albert hall, was fantastic and its an incredible building that i have always wanted to see... the boys LOVED their duck tour and james bond tour (which i won)

Afternoon all
Thanks for your kind thoughts for Jessie (5) She's a lot better today and by the way she's whining I think school tomorrow might be a good idea:rotfl:
I'm not too bothered at being stuck at 11 stone 3 as long as I can keep it stable over Christmas and then I'll launch into it again with renewed vigour in the new year.
HC I can sympathise with the carb cravings as the cold weather really doesnt help low carbing I find myself cold all the time and in desperate need of warming foods like jacket potatoes etc.If I've learnt anything over the months I've been low carbing its that its a lifetime eating plan and as such you have a lifetime to lose the weight so the odd blip isnt going to make much of a difference

HC please don't apologise for feeling down, we've all been there I'm sure xx I've got everything crossed for your DD - I'm sure she'll run rings round those crusty old professors at her interviews:) And I hope they sort out a workable treatment plan for your OH. Lol at your 'inner chav' - you should see my outer one!:D Me and Gilly had a burger the other day and yes, we really enjoyed too.
It is a real struggle staying on the straight and narrow at the mo for us too. We are not gaining, that's the only positive thing that can be said about it:rolleyes: But I think it was the lack of progress that was so demotivating for us... I think lesley's right tho, will try and keep stable over christmas and then attack with renewed vigour come the new year lol.
I'm off work now until the 29th and i'm only going in then because the editor, in his wisdom, decided we should print an edition that week:rolleyes: - but i mustn't complain, I've got two weeks off before then, and I fully intend to make the most of doing absolutely nothing in that time!;):D
Cheese on flax bread and a sausage for brunch today and then maybe steak in mushroom and cream sauce for dins.
Much love to you all

Thank you all for refraining from telling what a frightful whingemeister I am, and instead being encouraging - not that I deserve it.
Lesley, you're right - this is not a get-thin-quick scheme. But I'm craving ridiculous things. I want another McD's quarterpounder. And I made DD toast and pate earlier... the toast was white bread, and I was practically drooling as I buttered it. I DON'T EVEN LIKE PACKAGED WHITE BREAD...Haven't had it for years. I've been in and out of the house over the last week or two, not eating at home all that much, and haven't been taking my supplements. I wonder if that's something to do with it. Been good today though: sausages and mushrooms for brunch, steak with Stilton sauce and leeks, then SF jelly with strawbs and cream for dinner.
Off to collect other DD tomorrow. Missed her so much. God only knows how I'm going to manage next October, losing both of them to uni at the same time!
MoneySavingAllDay, I wish my OH would try low-carb. I'm SURE it would do for his blood glucose what medication apparently can't.
almar, well done on the 5lb loss. :j:j:j
Saz, do you work on a magazine or something? If it's something like Heat, give us the big goss in advance.0 -
