    Chocolate lover?

Aldi sell 85% chocolate (Moser Roth 125g -5x25g bars) which is lovely and only 5.4g carb for the whole 25g bar.
I usually only need to snap a bit off of the bar but if I'm not satisfied by that at least I know that my consumption is controlled by the small size of the bar. Much easier for me to do that than having to portin control a whopping great big 100g one!

    That's the one I have.

I can't even finish one of those little bars - I have about half and have to give the rest to OH!

thanks hun xx 20g carbs per 100g sounds quite a lot - but I guess per slice it's not very much? pork rinds sounds yum too

I just made a 1-minute Muffin (all flax). Didn't use cinnamon so it was a little bland on its own, but very nice with butter on while still warm. Might add more Splenda next time and maybe some vanilla.

Got some ground almonds too, so I'll have a go at the bread tomorrow.

    Evening Everyone

I'm a little bemused by all this talk of flax bread and chocolate.Arent we supposed to be avoiding these foods?I could be wrong here cos being a coeliac I'm not allowed products that contain gluten anyway so this diet for me hasnt been that hard.I can understand though why people crave bread as hubby isnt a bread fan and he missed things like chip and bacon butties

Well I was doing some calculations this morning and I reckon if I can average 3lbs a week weight loss which isnt far off what I'm losing. Then I should be at my target weight in about 7 weeks!!I put some size 18 combats on this morning and had to change them when I came back from the school run as they kept falling off me:o Most embarassing in the middle of a packed schoolyard!

    Have a good evening everyone

Hi Lesley hun :) I think I'm right in saying that high cocoa solids chocolate (70% or above) in small amounts is ok as an occasional treat. The flax "bread" is only made with flax and/or almond "flour" - so it's low carb, wheat free and thus gluten free as far as I'm aware, but maybe someone cleverer than wot i am can verify that:D

Target weight in 7 weeks that's brilliant! :j

    Does flax contain gluten?

    Flax contains no gluten.

    Hi hilary :)

Shykin's recipe for instant bread/cake here

    - I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so I tend to make this recipe with all flax meal and it makes a lovely bread substitute for me - it's good toasted, too. But I can imagine it adapts well to sweet cake-type versions also. I use a drop of water if I dont have cream to hand, and one egg rather than two, as I prefer the less eggy taste. I sometimes add a little grated parmesan and/or herbs, and/or spices, if the mood takes me :)

Have searched on this thread but can't find a recipe for one minute muffins, but found one here. Seems quite similar to the above recipe.

    HTH,

Thanks for that. Can you get flaxseed from a supermarket? Otherwise Ill try Graves or Boots health shop in Newcastle on friday. I'm assuming its about 1.5 carbs for the whole thing same as the muffin? looking forward to making these :T

As for chocolate has anyone thought of having a Highlight drink? Its only 4.5 carbs which is a lot less than a bar of choccy if not quite as naughty.

Lot of calories though. I worked out that the muffin is well over 300 cals!
