Daisy I agree with Shykins you have to stop being negative otherwise you're going to believe you cant lose the weight and get bigger and bigger.I know cos thats how I ended up so big.But you also have to take a little responsibility for your actions too.I know its hard to fight temptation and say no to the things we love the most but you have to think long term.Is that choccy or cakey or wine worth the effort of having to lose the weight that it will put on?So far I've been using that as my mantra and I've even taken stuff out of my mouth that I'm about to eat when that thought has crossed my mind so give it a try

Hi all i'm still trying ,Have a heavy weekend on out for a indian tonight and a friiends for lunch tomorow ,Have stayed the same weight all week ,Want to get down to 11 stone before Christmas i know i can ,just have to apply myself ,Daisy come on dig in with me Santas coming we can do this XXX
  • Daisy. I know how easy it is to preach, but you really need to start thinking about cutting out all the alcohol. It's not helping you!

I'm sure if you tried it for a week or 2 you'd see a difference.

Sometimes the tweaks don't work. I can't say, I'm low carbing but have 3 bowls of pasta a week, and it's the same with booze ;)

Just try it, and get some PMA (positive mental attitude) and see if you can turn it around.
  • What will you have at the indian, Sue?

I haven't risked eating out yet. I make the low carb bhajis (which are amazing) and cauli rice and order the curry bit in. Not sure how I'd cope at a restaurant just having the curry!

I did Atkins a couple of years ago and lost weight really quickly which then went back on just as quickly when I started adding things in. It doesnt take long for you to be eating exactly what you did before you started.

However I always felt that 20g of carbs is too low for most people to start with and sustain so this time we (OH and me) have decided to start again but on 30 -35g a day. Funny thing is that for the last two days when we decided to not be so strict we have had less than 20g, but we know the flexibility is there.

Life's too short to feel so negative about yourself or feel you 'have' to do without. Lets face it you can go out for a mixed grill and eat exactly the same as everyone else except the chips and peas.

Pity the dessert is always my favourite bit................
