    habits die hard tho dont they i still feel i have to finish

    You've hit the nail on the head there - if i serve up onto my plate i finish everything that i put on it, whereas if i take small servings of food from a serving bowl on the table (but as many as i want) I always end up eating less than i would have done if i had served up a full portion onto my plate. I think the process of taking another spoonful gives my brain a chance to decide if i'm really hungry or not whereas it doesn't really register when i've had enough when I'm 3/4 through a plateful.

    I really came on to say I am REALLY close to getting down to a BMI of 25 and I just wanted to share it with someone!
    My name is Paula and I am a low carber :kiss: 1/6/08-83kg : 1/5/10-57kg :kiss: (Atkins/IPD) 24/1/13 - 69kg! Yikes!:cry::cry:

    Morning Everyone

    Its a lovely sunny day here and set to be warm too if the weather report is correct

    I think I'm going to scrub the bbq and have our first al fresco meal of the year!

    Got to have a clear out of my wardrobe this weekend as there are loads of clothes in there that are way too big for me now and need to be put away.I'm not giving them away as I've lost weight and put it on again before so just in case they are going in the loft.

    Quite sad really about the clothes as some of them I really love.But its in a good cause

  • I agree - because i had kept some of my old "fat" clothes i went back into them (i lost loads of weight 5 years ago and again 5 years before that, but it crept back on due to ever increasing portion sizes and wine).

    Growing out of my clothes and refusing to buy a bigger size was the trigger to get my weight sorted out for once and for all before i hit 40. This time i am going to throw them all out rather than taking them in at the waist & hanging on to them.
    Luckily i have 2 boxes of size 14s that I'm starting to get back into so it's not proving to be too expensive, and i have a few things in 10s and 12s in the loft reminding me not to settle for being a 14.

    I wish the weight would fall from my bottom half rather than my already non-existent chest though!

    M&S have their 'Dine in for £10' promotion going at the moment, so I'm treating myself (and the family) to the Chicken Breast with Mozzarella and Pesto Melt, with Caesar-style vegetables. (Total 5 carbs for a half-pack of each.)

    Sue, I wish sprouts weren't a higher-carb veg. I LOVE 'em! :(
    I do to are we mad :j
