its a weird thing with stress, many people grab for food when they feel overwhelmed with life, am sure there is a scientific as well as emotional basis for that....

funny enough i am the opposite i stop eating, its like everything else is out of control so i will control my eating as its the only thing i can, course thats no better for u than overeating

as ravy says most people who have been overweight have issues around food at times....when u giving up drinking u dont drink and avoid drinking environments, thats impossible to do with food, u cant NOT eat and u cant avoid it so its always there. very difficult!

anyways hope things start looking up sue and fingers crossed he finds a new job soon

  • While I think drinking plenty of water has been mentioned several times I've come across a study that shows how drinking 500ml of water in one go improves thermogenisis.
Water Drinking Induces Thermogenesis through Osmosensitive Mechanisms"

They showed drinking a whole half litre of water increased energy expenditure by 24% over the course of 60 minutes. Subjects did not eat 12.5 hr and did not drink 1.5 hr before testing. So for those who are Intermittent fasting, drinking 500ml plain water (well maybe a dash of lemon/cidervinegar may cheer it up) after you have fasted 12.5hrs or so, may be a way to speed up your metabolism without any extra effort on your part.

I'm sorry to hear about your son Sue, something will come up for him soon so try not to worry. Don't worry about the slip, put it down to experience and remember how you felt afterwards, hopefully it will stick in your mind so it doesn't happen again!

I find that I eat more when I'm stressed/ upset etc. Nothing puts me off my food! I sometimes wish I could lose my appetite for a while, I always hear my friends say that they haven't eaten for days because they've been ill, it never happens to me! I just have to make sure that I'm now eating the right food!

I was very bad today I have to admit, it was someone's birthday at work so I had a slice of chocolate cake! Slap my hand! I'm lucky I only had that one slice, they were trying to force biscuits on me too!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Excuse me - I could hardly lift my lunchbox yesterday on account of a certain person putting so much in it... "pots/kettles":D;):D

Hello lovelies :hello: Bit quiet on here yesterday? Hope everyone's ok xx

I'm fine. Got tomorrow and monday off work woo-hoo :j Need to spend most of it getting my flat back into a vaguely habitable state after the building-work apocalypse lol. But i'm not complaining, it'll still beat coming into work:D

Weightloss is slow-going - probably do need to eat a bit less. There was a somewhat comedy moment in the car on the way home last night, when mr badger and i recited every hi-carb food we wanted to have for dinner (and it was a fairly extensive list, lol). But we managed not to succumb... just about! He's off on hols for a week and i'll really miss him, but I mustn't let that result in a massive feeling-sorry-for-myself carb fest lol:o Got to be strong!:D

Hope everyone's having an ok day. Thinking of you all, especially Sue.

Take care and much love

Sazzy funny you should mention the hi carb food listing cos hubby and I were doing that yesterday and deciding what would be the treat we would have to celebrate our both losing a third stone and I think we sort of came to the conclusion that having lost so much weight we wouldnt want to wreck it by eating something that would pile the weight back on.My god how boring is that!:D

My hubbys back at work next week and got nights so I'll keep you company so you dont succumb:D

    Wheres Gilly off to?
