  • I've just had a very weird breakfast. But it was actually very enjoyable and I may well do it again!

1 pack silken tofu (the stuff you can keep in the cupboard)
    1 cup rice milk
    1 cup ground almond
    1/2 punnet raspberries
    Sugarfree crusha

... all whizzed up in the blender, it's like those petit-filous things! Or a bit like Instant Whip I suppose, but virtually carb-free, fat-free and with over 50g protein!!!

I'd suggest the above is probably enough for two - I'm stuffed now  May not eat again for some time...

hope you're getting plenty of fat from somewhere else, badger_lady!!

actually, there's quite a lot of fat in the ground almonds ;)

i keep thinking about what im doing this time that i didnt last time and vice versa and really cant think of anything
however i did lose extremely slowly last time and not a huge amount in the grand scale of things - took me maybe 8 to 10 months to properly lose a stone with no more fluctuations
so maybe its going to be the same this time - im sure i could prolly go quicker but then i would be depriving myself and ''on a diet'' and id start obsessing
this way - its being good and a low carb WOE
i dont want to stop having milk in my tea or my wine at weekends and theres a price to pay i guess

when i come back im going to post a food diary for a week and would like construcive advice - not that im sure anyone on here would be anything other than constructive ;) - but would also like you to bear in mind my 'tweaks' :)
Daisy have you tried de cafe with slice of lemon

I opened a 25g bar of chocolate yesterday (85% stuff). I ate about a third of it before I'd had enough. OH scoffed the rest!

After a while your body adjusts to having less of the sweet stuff, Sue!

I think that parents forcing their kids to eat everything on their plates has a lot to answer for. I regularly babysit friends' kids, and always (accidentally) give them too much food. If you make a child eat what you think is the right sized portion, you teach them to ignore their body telling them that they're full.

M&S have their 'Dine in for £10' promotion going at the moment, so I'm treating myself (and the family) to the Chicken Breast with Mozzarella and Pesto Melt, with Caesar-style vegetables. (Total 5 carbs for a half-pack of each.)

    Sue, I wish sprouts weren't a higher-carb veg. I LOVE 'em! :(

yes daisy as u say u could lose faster, no doubt 2 wks of atkins induction would do it but then u wouldnt get yr tweaks so its a balancing choice

naughty girls with all this choc, i can only eat a couple bits of the 80%plus as its so strong.. sue u are right about the have to finish thing, realised i used to say this to my son, no pud less u finish firsts etc etc... i now put a lot less on his plate and dont insist he finished everything.. habits die hard tho dont they i still feel i have to finish

HC i bought exactly the same thing today and gonna have it for dinner tonight or tomorrow, have the panacotta pud thing to which may have as a treat but have frozen the sticky toffee thing for chrimbo

sprouts are only around 4-5g per 100g when cooked so thats not too bad

My little Carb Counter book says:

Brussels sprouts, 6 trimmed, boiled - 7.6g net carb!

So I planned to avoid them :(

Mind you, this same book says that 1 clove of garlic has 60 calories, so I'm not putting too much faith in it! :D

No, it's not American - but they do use 'cups' a lot, which makes me a bit suspicious that the publishers have made a UK version from the US book and not looked at it very closely.

It's Collins Gem, so it should be reliable - but clearly not!
