Low Carb Diet (atkins)

HC I'm lucky I drink Vodka and imbibe occasionally with little or no effect.Plus I have the odd takeaway.IMO and its only my opinion you have to tailor the low carb eating regime to suit your lifestyle and if you want the odd glass of wine then have it but be aware this will slow down your weight loss so it will take longer to get to your goal weight.Hubby does the daily treat routine and still manages to lose a little every week so it can be done

I was just feeling sorry for myself at having to drink water on a Saturday night.
I'm going to try to stay off the booze as long as possible (not sure how long that'll be).
OH has been away, and to celebrate his return this evening I'm going to cook steak with Stilton sauce. Yummy!0 -
I was out last night and had a couple of bottles of Old Speckled Hen.
I thought I was going to have to pay for it today by skipping breakfast and maybe lunch, but no problem.
This mornings weight was in fact slightly less than yesterday's, so no need to take corrective action. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

HC why dont u have some tonic or something for a treat at the weekend asda do a lovely cranbery flavour one
the thing with booxe and other treats is that u have to make the choice do u want to lose weight more or do u want the treats, depending on where u are in your diet and how much u have to loose u may decide a few treats are fine.... when i was in my major losing session i didnt have any treats, booze etc for over 6months even on my bday, christmas etc boy was i determined then .. lol could do with that attitude again now

Thanks, Shykins, I'll look out for flavoured tonic water (don't have an Asda near me, but got all the others so I'm sure somewhere will do it).
I'll resist the lure of the grape as long as possible. I think you're a saint to have risen above temptation even on your birthday and Christmas. That gives me something to aspire to!
(Actually, it's the lure of the Diet Coke that's sometimes even harder for me to resist)

Wait till you break that habit, HC - the thought of DC will disgust you!! I've been 'clean' for 8 months
I'll only be breaking the diet for Xmas day, and I won't be going mad0 -

Analysis of dietary interventions. A simple payoff matrix for display of comparative dietary trials
Normally with research findings the data is presented in statistical form that while you can, after much thought, understand the gist of it. This display once you see what is going on makes it easier to understand.
I thought it looked interesting and I think the information that those subjects who benefited more from carbohydrate restriction compared to reduced fat generally did so in a big way (> 5 kg differential weight loss).
An individual dieter is not guaranteed better outcome on either diet but the table demonstrates that they have a far better chance of showing dramatic results if they go with the Very Low Carbohydrate Ketogenic Diet well worth drawing attention to.
Out if interest this is the study the information in the matrix was drawn fromMy weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program
