surely a 1/4pt serving of jelly equalling 0.5gr carb of the daily allowance is permissable

not regularly. it's sweetened artificially, and those sweeteners won't help weightloss nor general health ;)

plus we're meant to be reducing those cravings for sweet things ;)

it's fine as an occasional treat, but not all the time. ;)

  • I love Hemp protein by Nutiva - it contains good fat as well as complete protein, and also Omega 3,6 and 9. Available from Beanfreaks or Holland and Barret for about £15 for a big tub that lasts me 3-4 weeks.

I've had some ready-to-eat jellies that were 1g per 100g... I think it was a Tesco's own brand?? Not very tasty at all, but a sweet fix with cream.
hi im staying out of Holand and barrett after the hamster bedding crispbreads (i also brought soya flour in there not sure what im going to do with it !

Slim·Fast was originally a range of milk and soy-based milkshakes developed by the Thompson Medical Company. Unilever acquired Slim·Fast Foods in 2000. So it is highly likely that soya is a major ingredient in providing the protein content of the various slim fast products.

Like all things soy in moderation is probably totally harmless. The problem comes when people use it as their major or only source of protein and are consuming significant amount daily. Mercola has this to say on soy.
If you look on pubmed for more recent research on the claims Mercola has been making then it's not hard to find.
    Examples like this

But remember it would take large amounts of soya daily for a long time to produce adverse events so having bought you bag of flour it's use it up without any concern whatsoever. Here are some ideas.

I'm at the end of Day 5 and I'm starting to think that a fortnight with no wine is an uncivilised way to live.

But it is quite possible. I went from the end of January more or less through to July with only a few lapses. While I was intent of losing weight. It can be done.

I now find I can have a bottle of red twice a week without gaining weight. Maybe if I was able to exercise I might be able to stretch it to three.

I am told there are Resversatrol supplements that provide all the health benefits of red wine without the hassle of drinking it.

    I've not tried them.
