Surprisingly fast cancel for me and on hold for less than a minute and less than 5 minutes to cancel. Being firm was all that was required!0

My wife has just used the number that emsi2519 posted and was through in seconds. The fact they make it so hard to cancel is disgraceful.0

My experience:
Called the 0800 number, was on hold for about 8 minutes. When connected, I was offered an extension of the trial, plus two other free trials for their other products. I just said "sorry, I don't need this" to each and was off the phone in less than 3 minutes. Email to confirm a minute later. Went a lot better than I expected!0 -
JUST CALLED 08001214752,
I asked to cancel my subscription, after giving my security details, the lady tried to offer different products/subscriptions/frebbies etc, I just kept interupting her saying I didnt want anything else from equifax and everything involving equifax cancelled. She said OK and I would recieve an email confirming the subscription, while I have been writing this comment I have recieved two emails confirming trhe cancellation of Equifax free credit report and Equifax Web Detect - which I knew nothing about!! The phone call lasted 4 mins.

Just tried to order my £2 Equifax report online ... only to discover to my horror that I'd just signed up for their Equifax Credit Watch™ Gold membership and been charged £69.99!!!
As far as I could tell, I clicked on the correct link. (There were various, including further links when you click on a link, on their £2-report page.) There was NOTHING along the way to say what I was signing up for or how much I'd be charged, and the T&C link was fairly generic for the various services they offer. I was only told when I've clicked the final button.
I phoned straight away and they agreed to refund and order the cancel the membership. However, when I checked my account, I saw she had withheld £5.83 (no mention of this on the phone) - i.e. one month's pro-rata even though I'd had it for minutes and it was due to their systems not being clear. So I had to phone their 0844 number again and after being put on hold multiple times, she agreed to refund this too, although it isn't showing on my transaction history so I don't know whether she has done.
Not sure how much it was me being particularly thick by clicking on the wrong link, but there was never, at any point, any mention of what I was signing up for or how much I'd be charged. They strike me as being a bunch of shysters, hoping that you'll inadvertently sign up for this by purposely not making it particularly clear to say the least
Following my call, they did provide me the £2 report seemingly for free. I'm now worried that they signed me up for the 30 day trial (the report has an expiry date of 30 days), even though I never asked for it.0 -

Had to phone them again as they hadn't effected the promised refund. Used 08001214752 and got through fairly quickly ... and they appear to have now refunded this.
Thanks to whoever first published this 0800 number on this thread. Better than using their 0844 number.0 -
Just cancelled my 30 day trial , phoned Sat morn on 0844 335 0550.
Phone answered after about 5 Sec's quoted my trans number, they offered as little as £2 a month to stay, when I explained still wanted to cancel no problem at all, they even sent a confirmation email back, it's so nice to have CONFIRMATION.:beer:There are more questions than answers :shhh: :silenced:WARNING ! May go silent for unfriendly repliesPlease excuse me Spell it MOST times:A UK Resident :A0 -
Finaly managed to call and cancel after forgetting every month - only £2.99 but hated seeing it going out every month for nothing! Thanks for posting the 0800 number - so much happier ringing that then the expensive one, and didn't have to wait long. Seem to always get someone with a REALLY annoying voice, though!
Something else ticked off my to-do list!0
