Thats a really good point - I remember reading something ages ago that the harder something is to eat, the better it is for you! It's true when you think about it as all the really high calory stuff just slides down with no effort, and the good healthy stuff seems to take a bit of chomping!
I have had a lovely day off today. It was my sisters birthday so I took her to my gym as a guest and we had a nice swim and jacuzzi, then had a lovely salad lunch on the terrace overlooking the gardens, then I had my hair done (cut quite short - I and OH like it!), now sitting here waiting for the Hilary's blinds man to finally coem and fit the blind we have been waiting 2 months for..... at least I have just negotiated £50 off for the hassle!!

Wooohoo I managed to get out of the house lol! OK so it was only to the car and the kebab shop for a nice healthy chicken shish. OH always forgets what I like and don't like so insisted I go with him , he parked outside and kept coming out to check I was OK !!
I've told work I won't be in next week as well and have an appointment at the doctors on Tuesday morning.
I kept looking in today but no one had posted so there was nothing for me to reply to.
PS chocolates hard if you keep it in the fridge. so if it's hard it must be healthy!!!Weight loss since 01/08/07 - 72 lbs:j0 -
I LIKE your thinking!

just a flying visit. Off to parents for the weekend (til late Moneve) so won't be around. Was going this evening but el knackered and OH had disappointing news after a good interview and we didn't have the heart to be all jolly for parents.
Relieved to hear you have turned a corner jules. Goodluck with hanging onto the lost 10lbs:T . Even putting half back on would still be a result from something so nasty.
Delly - boohiss for the tooth'ache'. Have a lovely week wih DS. End of a little era and start of new experienxces for you all once he starts nursery.
Saw mumma mia last night - hilarious and brilliant.
Have a good weekend allI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hello
Remember me?
Sorry I haven't been on for AGES, but I've had a bit of a rotten time recently and went into hibernation mode. Diet hasn't been the best but I haven't put on anything, have basically stayed the same so that is a bit of a miracle! I've been told by my doc I can't exercise at all for three weeks to try and get the joint inflammation down (arthritis and refuse to use anything more than Ibuprofen!), and I had my lung scan on Wed and have to wait five weeks now for the result. So in the next few weeks I'm stressed which usually I deal with by comfort eating and can't exercise!!! I remember that some on here are losing weight without exercising. Are you using WW or SW or are you just calorie counting? I can't stand faffing around with weighing scales and calculators so was wondering if anyone had any ideas.
Have to catch up on the posts so see you later!I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0 -
Hey Tagz, welcome back! It's quite quiet on here at mo. Sorry to hear you've been having a rotten time and that the next few weeks will be stressful. There are quite a few of us on here unable to exercise and we use different methods. I personally use the low GL method - I just have a cookbook which does all the counting and meal planning for me and haven't had a duff recipe yet! This will keep you very full and prevent any cravings, with good WL results. WL can be done without exercise so don't lose heart, and hopefully you'll be able to exercise again soon xThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Hello everyone, I'm back from my holiday :j .
I had a great time, but it's good to be home and have a 'nice cup of tea'.
I weighed myself the morning after getting home and found I had put on 3.6lb, but as Saturday is my 'official' weigh in day I am reporting a 1.4lb gain. Not bad considering all the yummy food I ate. That brings my total weight loss to 45.6lb. For the 12 days I was away I averaged just over 3000 cals per day
Thank you for not talking too much whilst I was gone - otherwise it would have taken so long to catch up.
BB - I am dreading catching up on the grocery threads 'cos they usually chat so much. I haven't even looked to see what page they are on. This has been our first holiday for over 6 years and was only possible because of the major savings from the GC.
Lesley - happy belated birthday
Bindiboo - glad you enjoyed your holiday too - I just loved eating whatever I fancied (with very little guilt). I made a real mess with a hot waffle, which had chocolate sauce and cream on it - the little monkeys thought it was hysterical - it's usually me telling them not to make such a mess. The next day I asked the lady for a plate rather than just a serviette - you would have thought I'd asked her for the earth. :rotfl:
Vix - good luck with the house hunting, £700 pm sounds so much. I shopped in Waitrose whilst I was dieting - I thought that if I am going to eat less I was at least going to eat the best - I shop in Tesco, Lidl and Netto now.
Missyg - where are you now? is it a cruise? We were wondering about a cruise when we next go on holiday, a beach type holiday doesn't suit us 100% as we don't sunbathe, the little monkeys loved the sea, sand and swimming pool though. I read 4 books - unfortunately the 5th book I had taken I had already read - duh!
Must go peek at the GC thread.

Evening all
Welcome back Tagz - sorry to hear about your problems. I'm doing SW again, and they say that the plan works even if you don't exercise, although they counter that by saying weight loss will be quicker if you do.
Welcome back FFM - we were considering a cruise too, as a way of having a relaxing holiday without sunbathing. I stopped sunbathing 2 years ago after being diagnosed with skin cancer (thankfully caught early) but prior to that, my idea of a holiday always involved lots of time spent lazing on the beach or by the pool. Since then we've been on holidays that are mainly sightseeing, but they're not particularly relaxing! A cruise could be a good compromise.
BB - I agree, Mamma Mia is great, OH and I went to see it earlier in the week and came out of the cinema with a real spring in our step, still singing bits of Abba songs - I could watch it again just for the high! I'd really like to see the stage version now.julesgr Wow! it's so quiet here at the moment where is everyone it can't all be due to teh fact that Missy is on her hols lol!.
...and Suggs and Victory, and we're missing Petrichor's regular input too... Pet, if you read this I hope you're ok, come back soon. (((hugs)))
The weather's been horrible here today - wet and windy - let's hope it cheers up a bit by tomorrow.
Have a great Sunday.

Hey everyone.
Im sitting here on a saturday night with a cup of tea watching the olympics i recorded before i went to work on sky plus! How sad for a girl of 21! brother is in the lake district, mum and dad are at bingo and matty is on some special op tonight because of the carnival. It is quite nice though
BB: sorry to hear about the dissapointing news with the job interview. Hope you have a good time at your parents.
Tagz: nice to see you back! Sorry youve not been well. My fingers are crossed for you regarding the scan. Hope you keep posting cos you are lush and i like reading your posts
Funky: thats c'bury for yaBut its a new build and thats without a discount which i would get if i were to have one and i want one. Location is ace ffm, when youre next here its near wincheap, you know where the old BT tower was? its opposite that, near habitat.
Talking of cruises, my parents just got back from theirs last sat. They make me want to go on one! Love the idea of watching the sea, waking up somewhere new each day ect. They are bad for tourism though, not very good for anyone apart from the ports, costs tens of thousands each time they dock.0 -
