Bails - I can't believe he is only 5' 4" - he looks much taller. Yes we have seen all his TV stuff - I like the way he integrates with the people he visits and tries to add something whilst he is there rather than just exploiting them for his programme.
I hope your book goes well - I must have missed your emails about the gap year etc - all sounds very mystereous.
Woo hoo Jules - that sounds great, even if it is skewed and any loss is fine by my book!

I know, I was surprised too! I like his programmes; he has an interesting life. I probably talked about my gap year a long time ago so you won't have seen it mentioned. Not sure if I'll ever be able to complete the book now but never say never I say ;)

Blooming 'eck Jules - that's amazing! 10lbs is 10lbs even though you've had to endure hell to do it, it's still an achievement. Are you feeling better?

oh, heath ledger also v v v v scary. and scary bloke playing harvey dent. there were some very young kids in the cinema who i can't imagine will be sleeping all that well tonight. Or maybe they are tougher than i am?

There's been some discussion about whether Dark Knight should have had a 12A certificate, which basically means that an adult can take a child of any age to see it. I thought the same thing about 'Beowulf' which had the same certficate and I found parts of it quite frightening, yet there were young children in the cinema. Trouble is, there are so many irresponsible parents around who let their children watch DVDs and play computer games regardless of what certificate they have.

yeah lois, i had heard that - found it quite bizarre that people were taking kids anyway. 'i've heard this film is really quite scary and could seriously mess up kids. shall we take them anyway and see what happens?'

got my homework assignment. I shall be a very busy kpc this weekend. I am enlisting the help of OH to TAKE THE BISCUITS AWAY after i have had the teeniest of nibbles on them. well, thats the plan at least.

Bails sounds fascinating! I've aslways wished i had a book in me, but i'm more of a commentator than a storyteller alas. And my writing style seems to default to 'tabloid journo' at every available opportunity. Did anyone listen t the Jeremy vine show at lunchtime ad hear the feature about curtseying? It was quite interesting, espeically when the 2 commentators started battling.

    Hi all

    It's Friday - woohoo! :D

I seem to have been busy for the last 5 weekends so I'm planning to catch up on some housework and chill-out - anyone got anything exciting planned?

Wow Lois only you and I posting today. It is quiet on here - everyone must be on their holidays.

Speaking of which, I'm now off on leave for the next week. OH has managed to make it to i34 this time (and at a much better time of the year too) so I booked some time off to spend with DS before he starts nursery in September.

I haven't had a great week diet wise this week, for no particular reason - oh yes, other than up until today I couldn't eat. My wonderful dentist never told me not to eat hard food until my permanent veneer is fitted, so I bit into an apple on Tuesday and have been in agony until today. Why is it soft foods are high in calories? Anyway, I have the daftest looking veneer on at the minute (another dentist) she must have put 6 layers of sealant on my tooth but I am still in pain. Just taken a couple of painkillers and am now waiting for them to work.

jules - the 10lbs off must be a little consolation when you're feeling so ill. Good luck in keeping it off. Hope you're feeling better soon.

No other plans for this weekend - just chilling out.
    Hope you're all well.
