    Hello

    Remember me?

Sorry I haven't been on for AGES, but I've had a bit of a rotten time recently and went into hibernation mode. Diet hasn't been the best but I haven't put on anything, have basically stayed the same so that is a bit of a miracle! I've been told by my doc I can't exercise at all for three weeks to try and get the joint inflammation down (arthritis and refuse to use anything more than Ibuprofen!), and I had my lung scan on Wed and have to wait five weeks now for the result. So in the next few weeks I'm stressed which usually I deal with by comfort eating and can't exercise!!! I remember that some on here are losing weight without exercising. Are you using WW or SW or are you just calorie counting? I can't stand faffing around with weighing scales and calculators so was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

Hi Tagz - really good to have you back. I'm just really sorry to hear you've been having such a bad time. I'm one of those who can't really exercise, but found weight loss salvation in SW. Although it is second nature to me now, it does involve a bit of faffing around at first, so maybe bails GL might be worth a try. Total sympathy re the arthritis - I feel about 90 at the mo and can't even take anti inflamatries as they clash with immune suppressants I have to take for another condition. Paraceptamol doesn't really cut the mustard:rolleyes: .Though my imflammation isn't as bad as yours sounds, thanks to methotrexate that I take once a week: suppresses the worst of it.
Having a lung scan doesn't sound good: it is quiet on here at the mo but if we can offer support and a place for you to whimper then please stick around. :grouphug:
I'm at my parents at the mo so just popping in on parents computer:D . Regarding this as 'being on hols' so eating lots of biscuits and mums home cooking:D .
Thanks for the commiseration vix. It's hard seeing someone you love being turned down for job he'd really like:( & be good at. He's got 2 more interviews this week and I think the same is going to happen again so steeling ourselves a bit while trying to keep the momentum and energy up at the same time.
Welcome back FFM - brilliant that you ate exacly what you fancied with very little gain, and as you need a few little gains at the mo, quids in eh:D .
Went into Lakeland yesterday (ooooh I could spend a lot in that shop:o ) Went to check out the remoska's we talked about earlier. Now dithering about the cost and unsure how much it's just me longing to play with a new gadget, conveniently using the smokescreen of 'very econonmical with the electricity':o .
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Thanks Brighton Belle. Sounds terribly am dram but keep having 'down moments' all it takes is looking at the kids or strangely enough just feeling happy and I suddenly remember the scan and it sets me off. If the lump has grown again I'll need a biopsy and keep thinking 'I hope they are a good aim cos they'll have a bit of excess blubber to get through!'. Poor OH puts up with the mood swings. It's like I've got permanent PMT!
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!

    Hey all!

Sorry to hear some of you aren't feeling 100% lately... Jules poor you, hope you get to 'keep' some/all of that loss as a little consolation though. You must have been so ill :(

Sounds intriguing about the book Bails! I'm still in suspense about what was the advice of yours I allegedly didn't follow...? :o I don't remember any recently other than the 10% rule (which you know I took seriously) - and a search didn't turn up anything else???

Hope you have a great week's leave Delly - how's the tooth now?

Tagz was wondering what you were up to (and your thread 'Mum' Wendy) Good to see you posting again! Well done on staying the same, sound like a great result in the circumstances! Cross fingers for an all clear with your results :) IIRC my water % reads between approx 54-57% if that's any help?

FFM so glad you had a great time! I'm so envious (in a good way!) about your teeny gain after your hol! You're my hero! Oh good luck for the mini op - how long is the recovery before you'll be back to 100%?

I'm still in Norway and getting ready for a beautiful scenic drive from East to West. Unfortunately it has rained every day since we got off the overnight ferry in Oslo, with daytime temparatures as low as 10 degrees!!! It was baking up until then, so it's been a bit of a shock!

I've toyed with the idea of a cruise in the past as I love being at sea, but I don't think it's for me - I'm too much of a "go as you please" type and I personally don't like the idea of group excursions and that kind of thing. On most of my trips I end up changing things as I go along and I think I'd miss that freedom on a cruise :p

Anyway, foodwise I've been eating anything I want really - having good self catered meals and quite a few 'extras' :rotfl: Unfortunately with the weather being so cr*p I think I've eaten more than I normally would have :o

Exercise has been very light and I miss my normal activity massively - I've only managed one 5km run and one 6km one. For the last week I've climbed 954 (steep) stairs once or twice a day, beating my time each day... will miss doing that! I'd love to be doing more but it's just me and my son so obviously that's difficult.

Oh well I'd better start getting packed up, we're off to the next place tomorrow!

Good luck everyone at weigh in this week! :D

  • BB and Tagz, you really are both rather brave, you always sound so positive on here inspite of your 'difficult times'.

BB - I could do some real damage in Lakeland given half the chance.

Missyg, my 'op' is nothing in comparison, it will be under local anesthetic and the Doctor says I don't have to look - phew!. It will be a quick snip, cut, scrape/gouge and stitch - based on what he described. I will be cycling to the clinic and OH will be coming to pick me and my bike up afterwards - with the little monkeys in tow as it is school holidays. Hope the bike rack arrives in time. A few days rest and the arm should be as good as new - bit lighter (so planning for a 'loss' next week - at least 50g :rotfl: )

I couldn't believe my lack of 'gain' over the holiday - I ate for Great Britain - should have entered the Olympics. I would probably have had a few more of those waffles with chocolate sauce and cream if I had realised I was going to 'get away with it'.

Hope the weather improves for you, I love the sunshine it makes me feel so much more cheery. Although the wind last night made me feel nice and snug and cosy - very nice to be home.

morning all! spent all weekend doing my homework but i think i an prepared - given that i spent all night presenting in in my dreams i hope so! Oh and noone will be surprised to hear that i ate the biscuits.

    welcome back tagz!

lol bb i quite fancy a remoska, but given that i've got a slow cooker, a food processor and a steamer fighting for space on the worktop i'd better not. I keep dropping hints to OH that i REALLY want a kitchenaid too.

Tagz - sending you big hugs

FFM - hope your mini op goes OK .

BB& KPC My friend has a remoska and produces some lovely food, hence why I avoid going into the Town centre when in Peterborough & what makes it even worse now is that there is now a huge Lakeland at Brent Cross which means that's another shopping centre I need to avoid!

Missy I really do like the sound of your holiday (except maybe the steps part!) It's the sort of think that I'd like to do but OH is too much of a make sure it's all sorted first type person.

Weigh in for me this week - +1lb

I know it's a combination of factors - OH was on nights last week and then off to i34 on Friday so I've been on my own with DS all week and stressed as we finally got rid of the dummy last night. Bored and lonely at night time after DS went to bed meant I ate loads
Then the tooth thing, which seems to be settling ok, but just means I can't bite into anything hard so not snacking on fruit but small rubbish that's easy to get into my mouth

Not making excuses, just reviewing so that I know how to move on from here.

Off work this week to look after DS so I might be about but never for very long.

    Have a good week everyone.
