(Sorry for repeat post any 4kers but I'm desperate!)
Eek, I need help! I haven't been getting the emails about a hen weekend I'm going on the weekend after next and I have to find the following:
a party dress or something 'glam' for a casino night
a pair of new knickers which represent me for a game we have to play:eek:
a 70s outfit and a wig for an ABBA night
Where am I going to find all this at such short notice?! Also we are going on a boat trip, having lunch out in a pub and hiring a butler in the buff so it's going to cost WAY more than I was told (I've already paid £130 for accommodation )
Any ingenious ideas would be very gratefully received...The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

reporting a 0.4kg loss this week, v pleased with. Less please with this nasty inner ear virus i have that is making me sleepy, woozy and off balance. Only managed 1/2 day at work before had to come home - which is v frustrating as I am already behind with work and also don;t get paid for sick days. SO consoled myself with crisps. gah, vicious circle starting up.
well done fg - you can;t change names - you'd have to start again. Sorry to hear rumbly about your result - it's a big thing though to face up to it on here - i lost 10 kg, got a couple of gains and got ashamed of myself and stopped posting - back on went the 10kg with a few to spare.
Been lookng at that sw book - thanks for the recommendation!0 -
1lb on for me please Lois: too much home baking

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

Hen night is my fave subject at the mo, going on one soon and im main organiser, although shes not getting married till 2010 but i doubt any of us will talk to each other by then!
anyway, something glam you can do easily. All you need is a black dress and then get some massive danglingy sparkly earings. Could also go to a fancy dress shop and get some evening gloves for a bit cheaper than you would for the real thing.
As for the knickers... thats tough. I guess you gotta get some knickers that represent the inner you bails!! Id go for half thong to half knicker. We do some in debenhams, cos if you go big knicker the game could be worse for you (as a guess!)
As for the abba night, matalan near me have just started to do party stuff and i should imagine its nation wide so maybe check them out for a wig. Otherwise there is ebay for this sort of thing. Othwerwise while youre getting the evening gloves you could hire an outfit or get pieces to make your self look more abba.
Youre hen do sounds sodding expensive!! but fun0 -
Thanks Vixy, the gloves are a good idea for the casino night, I'll look in my local charity shop; black dress, what black dress?! The problem is I need to do this all as cheaply as possible as benefits don't stretch far and to be honest, I'd rather spend my money on things I really want rather than carp. Hmm. Don't I sound like a bundle of laughs? The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

well at least with a black dress its a 365 a day thing, winter/summer, never look dated ect.
Debenhams has a sale next tuesday, might be worth a look? Unless you have something exsisting in the wardrobe. As long as you got a good pair of shoes on and some bling you cant go far wrong.
I do know what you mean though, its alot of expense for a weekend and i would feel a bit iffy on spending so much myself, i think its alot to ask people to do to be honest! But there we go! Do any of your girl mates have stuff you can borrow? i know i got about 50 million evening bags, even that would be a bit more glam than nowt.0 -
Guess you're right about the dress Vix, just don't really go out so have no need of one. All my girly mates live Manchester way or abroad and aren't my sizeThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

hey suggs, the gammon was really nice cooked in the slow cooker, though still a bit salty and didnt taste pineapple-y like i had hoped. next time i might try it in coke.
and the cats were most impressed with the smell and bugged me all day, oldest one enjoyed the meat too.0
