I am happy to say that I have lost 3lbs this week.
thats 14lbs of the 21lbs that I had regained after stopping last Sept, GONE for good.;)

I have also been measured today and since starting I have lost 2.5" from my bust, 3" waist, 3" hips, 1" upper arms and 2" thighs.

Congrats everyone who's reported a loss, STS or a 'positive' gain! :D Good luck everyone still to weigh in.

I'm having a slightly different week this week. It's no secret that I've been stuck in a catch 22 with my maintaining - extremely low calories (average 1293 per day for over 6 months) and quite serious amounts of exercise. I know I should be able to eat more than this, and still maintain - my maintain numbers for 'moderately to very active' are 1941-2160 calories per day!

My problem is when I increase the calories, I see an immediate upward gain over the next several days, panic, and lower them again. This has happened a lot of times, but I've never tried leaving the calories at the higher level to see what happens beyond the first few days of gaining. This time, as scary as it is, I'm going to try it.

I'm starting with a week at 1500 per day, and I'd like to think even if I gain, I'll try to keep it going for a second week. Then if it fails, the gain will get lost amongst my holiday gain anyway so it won't matter :rotfl:

Not very MSE though is it... eating 20% more is obviously going to cost 20% more

I have maintained today. I ate twice in motorway services yesterday and eventually went for the most appetising rather than the healthiest option.

Well done bindiboo, fitorbust,Annie, fred and dannie, ajax and kpc.:T:j :j

Give it a go missy and don't give a knee-jerk panic if you do increase. Like you say, you know you should be able to consume more, so I can only think that your body is just used to that much. If it gets used to a higher intake then after an initial small gain my guess is that it would adjust accordingly and maintain.

Oh my - shiny new thread already.

I have a catch 22 situation. Trying to stay off the internet but then I fall so far behind with posts on the forum that I use more time trying to catch up

K, hope everyone is well and just popped on to report at STS although in reality that is a false reading. I took Monday night off from class to watch the Twenty20 cricket which turned out to be a non-starter :(

..naughty naughty Yorkshire :) Our game against Kent will be a non-starter today too for different reasons. It's been hammering down in Birmingham all day.

    Hey all,

Well done Bindi, and all other losers...

Not done too well myself as have had a stressful couple of weeks at work, with lots of choc, cake and biscuits to make me ‘feel better’ (didn’t work, now i just feel stressed and fat too!!). But last night the scales said 10st which was nice… could be better but I shan’t worry, will do my best in the coming weeks.

Am goin on hol with some (very skinny) friends in about 5 weeks, and would like to lose a bit more before we hit the beach (eek!). Even just a pound a week wld make me happy, to get past the 10st mark and into the 9st region.

Have discovered couscous and am loving it, but can anyone tell me if it’s better or worse than rice / pasta???
I have a carb addiction and usually end up eating too much so have been mixing couscous with tuna / turkey, tomato, salad / veg, kidney beans / chickpeas etc to pad it out and lotsa spices /lemon juice.

Also - i've clearly been away too long as you all seem to have developed a cool new lingo.. what's STS mean???

Hope everyone's well. Sorry i dont manage to get on here v often anymore, but i'll try to catch up once a week or so :)

    K x
