Hey folks I'm back (slightly new username, long story, don't ask
)
First of all Lesley sorry for not posting on Sunday after you completed your run, congratulations! I was thinking about you... shame about the weather but I hope you felt even more virtuous because of that
PinkLipgloss moving day today, hope all goes well and look forward to hearing how you got on.
Petrichor and Ajax glad to hear that your favourites both won
BB thanks for missing me, I've not gone anywhere just yet though, and I'm a bit worried about our Wendy too
Congrats to all who've posted a good weigh in result! Mine's 0.5lb gain, which is fine. I had a splurge last Wednesday and although I was angelic after that (sub 1200 cals & exercise every day), I watched the weight climb and climb over 3 days 'till it was 5.5lb up!!! ... Thought it wasn't going to stop! So I was very relieved when it mostly disappeared on Sunday and Monday and I feel like this week will be a good one.
I've been doing 60-90 mins on the exercise bike in front of the tv every day since TdF started. It's great, I barely notice I'm exercisingToday I did a 'slow' 5km run outdoors and I hope to do two more 10km runs this week as well as keeping the biking going.
Hope everyone is keeping well0 -

Efrieze - I appreciate that's a scarily big gain. But you always do turn it around, so you know you can do it. It's like you body chemistry goes into massive water storage mode or something. At least you know from experience this is how you body responds. The important bit is turning it around, as you are doing , before it gets psycologically on top of you. You are not going to put 6 stone back on.
First results of the easiyo yogurt maker are in (had to check it at 5a.m. as I was so excited to see if it had worked) And voila! one 49p ltr of UHT milk was all yogurt:j .I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

... glad to hear your yoggy experiment was a success BB. Get your head together with katiecutiecat and get 'em sold on her round
Efrieze is in our gang as she claims to be a manBig losses, big gains. Me thinks she'll have lost the lot again in two shakes of a nanny goat's tail.

I didn't get banned if that's what you think
:rotfl:
I get the OTT gains when I increase my intake too  I reckon it must be related to the feast/famine stuff. I have learnt these 'fake' gains come off easily enough though, and while it does still require effort it's not in the same league as shifting the more stubborn weight.
I'm trying to find the manual of my body analyser scales. Apparently I should have been taking the measurements with damp or wet feet 'cos then it's much more accurate?! Ooops0 -
wet feet? or maybe it electrocutes you if hte percentage goes up. aggressive scales! do we have to embark on a thanks campaign to get missy back where she was?
just bought oh a pack of 'german beer sausage' in aldi. his 2 favourite things in all the world . . may have to make a pie out of it to really make him a happy bunny.0 -

You are not wrong - even I was shocked at that kind of gain in such a short time. I will have it off in the next few weeks, you are right, or at least I intend to! I am not sure it was water retention as much as the retention of a whole packet of digestive biscuits, a whole pack of ryvita, 15 sausages that I ate on Sunday etc etc etc (might be an exaggeration - perhaps I only ate 10!) Extreme excesses but actually I am starting to feel a bit better about it. I did it, now it's time to move on!0 -
It's spookily quiet here...
Efrieze - I'd definitely be questioning my scales if I'd gained that much in a few days, are you sure they don't need new batteries?
Victory - your bathroom sounds rather like mine when I first moved into my current house - egg yolk yellow bath, smoked glass mirrors that you couldn't see yourself in, beige tiles and dark wood fitted cupboards without any shelves! We made do for a few months but I was so glad to see the back of it when we refitted it.
Ajax - I'm always fascinated by people's reasons for being vegetarian, what made you give up meat, and how long ago?
Missy - I'm intrigued too, did you forget your password?
KPC - your OH sounds just like mine - given the choice he'd have sausages or pies or both for every meal, preferably washed down with beer!
Catch you all later
