Raining again here so I've got wet clothes everywhere again. Someone on the radio just said the sun is out in London, so maybe it will head this way later.

Hello all. Hope you are all doing fine. Missy and FFM hope you are both recovering well (hate having stiches taken out!!!!).
Well it's been a strange day so far. Just come back from mass and I kept getting choked up and on the verge of tears. I'm getting the results of my scan tomorrow and whilst I know it's been playing on my mind how embarrassing would it have been if I actually burst out in tears! I'm religious but not that pious!!!!!! Laughed about it afterwards.

Lois - I got just the same from OH for my birthday ('cept mine has a removeable strainer that sits in the cup while brewing, but has lovely little lid)and I 've been using it loads when he's at work, but only with ordinary tea and am cutting teabags in half - ooh, the frugleness:rotfl: .
Mid week weigh in looking encouraging dispite the biscuits. Now need to tackle washing up mountain and my turn to clean the bathroom...
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Aw Tagz! Sure you wouldn't be the first person to have a little cry in church. Sending you a ton of positive vibes for tomorrow hon
Do you know what time you'll know?
Lois you gotta do what you gotta do! Your meal at home will be just as lovely I'm sure and a lot more MSEMy 'birthday meal' is still on hold... from May :rotfl: Glad you got a nice present for yourself, but wait a minute - a cup with a matching teapot that "fits inside"? Is it an oversized cup or a miniature teapot?!
FFM - better too cautious than the opposite, in my opinion! This is my third operation and will be my fourth scar. I wear them with pride! Is everything else OK with you? Done any more cycling lately (if you're allowed)?
Hi BB good news about the midweek! Fingers crossed. Are you still enjoying using that remoska? What about breadmaking, have you had another go at that since the first one?0 -

Sorry - thoughtI'd posted re 2n breadmaking attenpt but clearly not: yes, 2nd loaf a sucess. Am now thinking of trying 'artisan bread' which I found on a thread and those with remoska are reporting great sucess with it (including our very own marion:D ). Yes, really enjoying the remoska - cooked the tastiest meal I think I have ever cooked on Thurs - roast pork ,carrots & roasties with green veg steamed searately. Superb. Did 2 cakes in it on fri and they came out the best they have ever done - they were so moist I even tasted them myslf and didn't go urggg! (I'm a non cake eater myself - don't like sponge texture). As I have avoided using our oven as much as poss over last few years, I am slowly incoporating the remoska into use with new ideas for meals rather than using it all the time yet. Spent birthday £10 yesterday (thanks aunty D) on silicon pastry cases and a silicon based liner for the bottom of it (you can cook direct in it and/or use dishes in it) and to line bakeware: reusable and I hate with a vengence cutting out baking paper to line cake tins so worth it. Made pastry today and in fridge now to make cornish pasties for dinner tomorrow for 1st time:j . MMmmm, when's my w.i. :rotfl:
Day 2 of leave and so far getting jobs done and chilling out online so so far so good. Now need to tackle mountain of 'stuff' that is over taking our bedsit:o . Oh and missy - sold my first book on amazon, can I have a gold star please:DI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
missy, my scar is healing well but the wound does ache from time to time. The weather has put a bit of a stop to my cycling as well as taking DD to her new school in the mornings rather than cycling to work. Thinking about joining the gym again, but not sure if I would actually go. I went loads in my first year of membership, and then hardly at all in my next 2 years. I might try a 6 week trial which they charge £60 for.
BB, congrats on the Amazon sale, I'm an Amazon die-hard. I've tried to post a gold star for you but have failed miserably.
Have you visited the Amazon thread? http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=598632 We don't chat as much as we used to since Apprentice Tycoon left the scene, shame really.

Hi Missy
The appointment is at 1.30pm. thankfully my hubby has taken the day off, and can be there for me whatever the outcome. Either way I'll be a wreck!
BB How big is the Remoska? Is it big enough for a family of six? I'm interested but don't want to spend money to find out I need something bigger!I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0 -

Yes, me too, fingers crossed for a good result.Lois you gotta do what you gotta do! It's a big(ish) cup and a small teapot - I'll take a picture and post it tomorrow.

Tagz - the grand, which is the biggest is recommend for 4-6 people. On the remoska thread:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=10314&page=51
you can read about peoples expereinces with it. I have the grand just for us two as I like bulk cooking and both us and lodgers(another couple) seem to have big appetites. But I haven't used it to it's fullest capacity yet i am sure.
Some with a family of 4 use the standard. The grand is 12" diameter and 3.5 inches ish deep. You can get a chicken in it to roast plus potatoes. It does seem to take a lot, and there are ways, with their rack to cook stuff underneath stuff. As I only cook for two, I don't feel qualified to talk confidently about feeding 6, but there is no doubt a number ofn the remoska thread do. Perhaps post your question there too for a more rounded answer. Be warned about reading the thread though - we are all absolutely in love with our moskis, so is very dangerous for bank balance, though ultimately saving if you use your oven a lot.
FFM - thanks a lot for the amazon thread link.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Right then calorie intake for the week is 8422 for an average of 1203/day, and as I've been horrifically sedentary (not through choice!) that's on pace for a 0.5lb loss at weigh in. I won't really know how I've done though because I refused to accept last week's weigh in :rotfl:
My mouth is watering at all the goodies BB has been rustling up! Starting to wish I hadn't asked(just kidding!) Have a * for the Amazon effort btw! Yes, I've failed just as miserably as FFM on that one
Are there any gyms where you could pay as you go, FFM? We have a council one where you pay for a one-off induction to learn to use the machines, then you pay for each visit as and when. (The main problem with our one is that the swimming pools and sauna/jacuzzi suite are in completely different buildings)
Tagz you'll have mine and lots of other people's thoughts with you I'm sure at 1:30pm tomorrowHoping for the best.
