  • Glad you had such a fab time victory, and that the last cupla days have been good. How did son get on at new school?
Big welcomes to our lastest crop of newbies - please pop in as often as you can for max support and encouragement.
I'm now on leave for 2 weeks:j :D . No plans as el skint, but that's ok,lots of little projects I'd like to be getting on with at home. Eating biscuits for enghland these last few day though, so hoping some self restraint will make a reappearance soon:o .
Granny, many many congrats on your 35th wedding anniversay - that's an achievement worth celebrating:T . I like your take on pressies - I think we are heading the same way. I tend to do that with friends now, meeting for coffee and cake rather than pressie. And making someone a cake for a pressie seems to go down well.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

My son is a bit of a fish out of water and I can relate to that so we are going easy with him, trying to explain things to him like on Monday his dad will be at work and he has to get himself to school on a bus or bike:rolleyes: but in goes in one ear and comes out the other:rolleyes: once he gets some friends he will be fine.
Biscuits? Me too! Got some milk choc digestives mcvities fav and have been munching them taking a few days off as have been ultra strict and now feel I don't want to be, normal play will resume on monday as have to get back to it for the wedding on the 27th:D

My mother is being funny again what a surprise there then:rotfl: :rotfl: we had a long talk in Spain, resumed friendship and she said as she gets free UK calls would ring me every tuesday and friday, yesterday waited for her to ring to tell her about the orient express with phone in hand, nothing, emailed her and she said she never said that it was friday it would be sundays and she has no intention of ringing today:rolleyes:

The bathroom lino man came OH hates it:rolleyes: (I think he is upset about someone coming in and'messing up' his work of art:rotfl: :rotfl: ) final touches today and that is that, OH is going to a fancy dress tonight medieval so is off in a mo to get a costume:D

Rain will keep us in in, one plays on the xbox and the other on the DS so they are happy enough:D

    Morning all

Wet here again today, so I'll be armed with a brolly when I go out! DH is taking me shopping for a birthday present for Monday..!

I'm also going to make a special journey to Morrisons as they have Muller light on offer at the moment, 10 for £2.00. As they're 50p nearly everywhere else that's definitely not to be missed. I wonder if they freeze?

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Good news on the exercise front Cathy (or do you prefer to be known as Cate?) You're so lucky to have that kind of support for babysitting in your family, make the most of it! I'm on my own with my son too, he is almost 10 and at that age we can do a fair bit of exercise together (he rides his bike or scoots while I jog, etc). It's a bit more difficult when they are younger. Do you work full time?

I dont mind either way, I get Catherine, Cate and Cathy so whatever you can be bothered typing :D

I work fulltime yes, so with DD being back at school now, the routine will kick in but it's going to take a few weeks to make it stick, this is the first time I've been able to get support, I've always felt very letdown before so am gona take advantage big styleeeee!

Went to my first exercise class this morning and it was so tough!! Feel like I've bruised ribs with the stomach work hehe but at least it pushes me. The teacher has asked me to arrive early on Monday night and she will spend time talking nutrition and things with me, she's lovely and very supportive already! Am very excited about going again, will have my stuff ready and in a bag tonight to put in the car for Monday so I can go straight from work

    How's everyone else getting on??

Vic was reading about your Orient express, sounds fabulous, you lucky lucky girl! hope you love your bathroom, and enjoy your night tonight!

Hi LL, great bargin in Morrisons, unfortunately we dont have any in NI but plenty of other bargins, I'm trying to use up everything in my fridge and freezer to defrost before the winter sets in

Sounds like you are really motivated Cathy! Great stuff! If you get some good nutrition tips you'll have to pass them along to us ;)

I took the dressings off today, the wound is only just over two inches long although it seems bigger :p Doesn't look too great at the moment obviously but it looks like it will heal nice and cleanly (how's yours doing FFM?)

I did a little bit of easy peasy stepping etc on the wii fit today, in place of the school walk :) Foodwise been really good this week and expecting to finish tomorrow at almost exactly 1200/day for the week :D
  • Hi Missy,

Glad your wound looks as if it will heal nicely. I have a feeling that my doctor was a little too cautious with his stitching. The nurse that removed the stitches commented that they were a 'little tight' - when I asked if this was a problem, she said no but it was unnecessary as it was on the inside of my elbow and not on the outside where there would have been more tension.

I think that the result of this is that my scar may have permanent 'puckers'. But I've not heard of anyone being considered unattractive because of a wrinkly scar on their inner elbow - doesn't seem to have affected the scrabble.

Go easy on the exercise :naughty: , we're all keeping our eye on you.

    FFM :)

So you and Matt are both Virgo  - does that cause problems or mean you're better suited to each other?

Raining again here so I've got wet clothes everywhere again. Someone on the radio just said the sun is out in London, so maybe it will head this way later.

DH wants to take me out for a meal for my birthday, but I'm so determined I'm going to have a good result at the WI this week that I said no, so we're going to Tesco to buy a ready cooked chicken and some nice salady bits. I'm being a diet bore I know, but that seems to be what I have to do, so I'm going to do it.

We went shopping for a present yesterday and I chose a 'tea for one' set - a cup with a matching teapot that fits inside. It sounds really twee, but it will be great for herbal tea.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend and not getting too wet.
