Ha ha, loving the jaffa cake conversation! :rotfl:Welcome to all the recent newbies, you're very welcome here and we'll do whatever we can to help you out.
Lynsey, your situation means that's it's impossible to prevent stuff coming into the house so I think there are two options I can see - would you be able to limit yourself to say one or two biscuits a day as your treat? Or get yourself a lower fat alternative snack that you could eat and enjoy alongside the others? Hopefully in time the lure of the biscuits will ease off.

Well, actually Granny, there IS something you could do...got any distance teaching I could do? :rotfl:My main problem is my situation - I'm an emotional eater, and I'm emotional all the time  I need to channel my frustration elsewhere...like at little people ;):D

Not partial to jaffa cakes either far too sweet, my fav have to be mcvities milk choc digestives, yes, tried all the others even the dark one they brought out recently and those milk choc hobnobs I bought for my birthday (only had 3 did not like them that much) the kids ate the rest no def milk choc and I do what missy said to do I ration them, if I have any it is 2 and 2 only and the rest go back and if I do have them they have to be on a weekend after being good all week as a sort of well done to myself and at 84 cals each I can put that into my daily cal allowance and drop something else to compensate and know no real harm has been done and now they are like that they are more of an indulgent look forward to appreciated luxury rather that open the packet and never put it back again:D

  • I'm going to disgust everyone who loves jaffa cakes - I don't like them, and I don't like chocolate either. Haven't eaten a bit in 4 years. Can't even eat brown dolly mixtures because they taste of cocoa. Now if only I could work on sweets in general lol. Skittles are my downfall. Being good at the moment though. I'm in for the September challenge, I'll see how I do!

welcome to the new lurkers, hope you are enjoying hte thread.

new season of heroes delly? off to find out when it starts on the beeb. thnaks for the heads up.

Luinz, you sound like me - I'm an habitual muncher. The key is finding something else that you like that is allowed - which is why i do slimming world, because of the free stuff. IF you put you mind to it it does really work, you just have to get into the mindset which is what i;ve been trying to do this week. I save my HEBs to have bags of ryvita minis, on green days i have roasted chickpeas, on both days I munch quorn meatballs and on red it's usually wt ham or similar. Then I don't feel deprived but i am sticking to the diet. Off for a meal out tomorrow so saving syns for that, which i know isn;t quite what you are supposed to do but it always feels the right thing to do. I seem to have got back into the mindset where i look at food and say 'does that fit your diet?' instead of saying 'well, it;s kinda green and i've been kinda good for some of the week so it might be okay'. Which is why sw stopped working.

  • Hi everyone

Only just got online late tonight.

Have a good day today, am cutting out the fizzy drinks and crisps which I've been recently binging on, so have had a successful day in that respect

Have also got a babysitter or 3 sorted for me to go to a step aerobics class. Being a single mum to a 4yr old, it's hard to get out in the evenings, but I've asked my 2 grannies and an aunt who have all said yes to 1 night a week each for 2 hours woohoo!!

My problem is definately my exercise habits, I'm in a sedentary job and hate walking, when I work out my eating becomes very good also. So start on Saturday morning with the exercise, and will continue with the weightwatchers to see how it goes

    Goodluck tomorrow to all!!

  • bleaagh exercise. i wish i could like it but i don't. actually, i quite liked martial arts, but no way to fit it into the schedule . . .
