sorry to have to confirm it but its true , i watched russell t davis on phil and fern the other morning and he said there'd only be 4 specials next year and then in 2010 it will be back to the full 13 episodes he also told them he was leaving to work on other things next year. i was also told that david tennant was leaving after the specials and that robert carlisye would take his place as the doctor but i dont know if this is true.

Hi - I'm back and did the Race for Life is 48 minutes - not brilliant but it absolutely poured down and the Knavesmire was a mire!!! I have never been so wet in my life - I have had a nice hot bath and we have had bacon and egg sandwiches (grilled bacon and dry fried eggs of course!!).
Must go and do the jobs I should have done yesterday now... we caught up on Dr Who by watching about 7 episodes yesterday - it was fab wasn't it?

ooh, I've just been given an easiyo through freecycle. Can anyone who has got one confirm that I've got all the 'bits' with it and how I use it? EDIT:No need now - have just checked the company on line and got the answers. So excited to get one for no outlay. Makes the yogurt I'm going to mke even cheaper.
PLG, my dad says the maru of our boat wasn't spelt with 2 rr's but one, and that many japanese boats have 'maru' on them. Does this mean anything to you?EDIT: just answered my own question again through wikepedia: apparantly this is a common last name of japanese boats. Lots of reasons and too many to write here. Sorry I spelt it with 2 'r's before.

    Hi all

I hope everyone's had a good weekend. Thinking about Petrichor at the moment as the tennis is at a very crucial stage, with all level in the fifth set and rain stopped play again!

London was great - got caught in a couple of showers this morning and just about wore my hands out from clapping for two hours while we cheered on the runners in the 10k. I estimate that about 60% of the runners were supporting charities, and it was the ones in hour two that really needed our support as they were struggling to finish. I really admire people who put themselves through that to help others, so a big pat on the back to Tagz :T and Fitorbust :T and anyone that did the London 10k today that might be reading. :T

Hancock was excellent - I can recommend it, and I recommend the Electric Cinema to anyone who lives in London, or within travelling distance.

Foodwise (back on topic!) I think I did ok, although I've probably drank more alcohol than I should have  . I only drink at the weekends though.

    Bails - have a good holiday :)

    Right - tennis back on.

Have a good week everybody! :D

Well, I survived the horse riding without falling off:j ! It was pouring with rain for most of the two hours and I was terrified until the first canter, but after that it was fine. The fall had knocked my confidence a lot more than I tought it would - I think you develop a different perspective on these things once you become a parent. I know it will be quite a while before I restart the jumping!! Anyway, lots of trotting must have been a good workout for my legs - they are very jelly-like now!

Well done fitorbust on your race for life - fantastic achievment:j . Would it be cheating if I did it on horseback:p ?

HI all, Ajax - I'm sure you're right. Its just something I was considering. I promise I'll think it through a bit more before doing anything so drastic.

    Have a good evening all.

morning all, well I finally did it - got back on my wii fit after a long absence (about a week after they came out!!) and I have put on 11lb. I knew I had put some weight on, but 11lb!!!
I have even been fairly good, but have eaten fruit like theres no tomorrow, maybe the sugar could have something to do with it, or maybe it was the steroid inhaler I was given for the asthma type chest infection I had. anyhow Im so fed up I am even considering the cambridg diet - my friends doing well on it. Anyhow Ill have a think about it. Take care all, have a good sunday

I'm all for taking a new approach if something isn't working, but I would suggest thinking carefully before forking out lots of money on a diet (I'm not saying don't, just think first). Personally, I prefer to keep my investments minimal - I just borrowed a few books! This way I can spend money on me when I reach my mini targets (says the person who still hasn't had her perm:rolleyes: ). There are loads of things you can try, so just choose the one that suits you best and think long term. From reading these posts, the feeling I get is that the strict calorie counters and slimming world peeps do pretty well overall. (I'm not saying that other methods don't, I'm just saying what stands out to me, as a quick general impression). I'm a low carber myself (sometimes that can be almost as controversial as the Cambridge diet), but I find that it suits me well enough. As for the Cambridge diet, I know very little, sounds very monotonous to me, but quiz your friend on what she likes/ dislikes about it.
