  • I have had this deal sine it started. My Local store does it every other week,
    Thursday till sunday.
The best bit is it only costs £8 as I get discount
It has been a huge success for Marks and long may it last
    regards

It's definately still on today because I was in M&S and bought a Deal. This was in the Gyle Edinburgh and they were handing out leaflets at the door and they had six or seven end aisle sections groaning with offer food. Not a lot of chance of running out there! It was before 12.30 so they couldn't sell the wine and there were not a lot of folk picking things up so I had a good rummage around and came up with a £9.10 chicken and a box of their Swiss Chocolate Assortment in lieu of wine. Good. Fed up with wine and orange juice!

One thing I was going to try was to get a Large chicken and see if it scanned. Not a Large chicken in the store, alas. Only one Extra Large but I was pretty sure that wouldn't scan so didn't bother.

This is really annoying me - I'm sure I saw an advert link on the side of a website on Friday when i was at work showing something similar from M&S at £47 or so. Perhaps it's a meal for four or more?

Darned if I can find it now and I've thoroughly searched. Perhaps I totally imagined it?

They do appear to be doing a bargain Christmas lunch for 4 for £49.....;)

That's where I saw it. If I could thank you more than once, I would - simply because it's been puzzling me all morning and now my brain can rest :rotfl:

EXTRA Large has never gone through and allowed the £10 deal to work as it should, but LARGE is still definitely working with this offer this time round - well it was yesterday (Thursday). I got a 2.180 kg at £9.57

As far as I am aware this was just 90g (and about 39p) short of where it would be classed as an EXTRA Large (2.27kg / £9.96) instead
Thanks for this - I managed to pick up a Large chicken but picked a £8.90 one cos I couldn't remember the cut off point so played safe and went for one under £9. I'll remember for next time!

Ahhh...many thanks for that link. Most useful! I wanted to look at a menu to see if it would be worth my while waiting to get this Deal or to DIYmy own menu. Alas, there's too much stuff that I either don't want or need (I've got plenty wine and grow my own veg for example) to make it a real bargain for me. I can use the £49 more appropriately for my own family's likes.

It doesn't seem to be a deal, just a shopping list for Christmas dinner. I'm still hoping for a Christmas dine in for two though as Christmas day is a Thursday it would need to start earlier in the week!

My son went into Preston store, searched through for the biggest chicken and was just looking and choosng the other parts of the deal when an assistant came along, whipped the chicken out of his hand saying "we've run out of the puddings so all deals are off. You can't have anything at all!". He couldn't believe it but I remember someone on here saying that if they run out of one part of the deal, they usually offer you something else instead, not just take it off you!

Has anyone else had this happen to them! I think they'll be getting one of my stern letters (which usually work!)!!!

The assistant might have fancied the big chicken for themself?

Certainly boxes of chocolates have been offered as replacement items in the past, probably down to the store manager in question?

Good luck with your stern letter anyway. ;)
