My children use that as a sort of disparaging remark as in "Hypno's a bit.....special" :rotfl:

That was why I said it - me and my children use it in the same way too!!

Anyway, I would rather be "special" than a witch :rotfl:

    Morning All :hello:
I should have gone to work over the weekend to earn my extra days holiday - but I didn't want to :o
This morning my back aches from the gardening, but I'll make a to do list for today.
    • take a car load to the charity shop at lunchtime
    • put some boxes into the loft tonight for another day
    • start listing the next batch of e-bay stuff. This time the more valuable stuff. I'm sick of these 99p ones, even though 9 have sold, and two of them at £1.80-ish. Not bad for free brochures with some hours to go :rotfl:
    • I ought to go to the drama society tonight, I've been missing for a month, but my get and go, got up and went and I'll probably loll around here :o
    • Speaking of "ought" I'm off to work now and shall probably lurk for the best part of the day :o

Ha my gardening skills appear to be non-existent. I wish Popeye was here, he not only can do it, he likes gardening too.

Well I've sold one of my 72 listed books on Amazon. :j (a matter of pence profit :rotfl: )
The mystery shop company will be sending me £67.50 (it's left them, not quite in my account though)
And 8 free brochures sold for £15.50 on Amazon. More finish tomorrow, and more a few days later. Can't ship them out until all the bidding finishes because the same people are bidding against each other :rotfl:

And I need to list some more of the valuable stuff, but Popeye needs to see them and that isn't possible until Sunday as he is still on the road.

Quidco is looking healthy too, £70 in the received column.

But my challenge needs to go up a gear, I need to find £2500 to clear a 0% credit card by the October statement. And I have 10 days holiday in the middle. I'll have to lurk in a more productive manner. :o

Well done you on the incomings - listings, ebay, m.s. and quidco!!!

Can I ask what the free brochures are for? Its a mystery to me how people ever make money from ebay.... firstly cos my crap really *is* crap, and secondly, whenever I see the listings of auctions about to expire, so *many* of them don't have offers - but you have to pay the fees anyway, don't you? I really don't get it, I must have a block. Help!

The fees on e-bay are changing, they will be slightly better for the 99p-£4.99 stuff that actually sells, but the fees are loaded at the end now, so you *should* pay less for unsold items......

The brochures (and some magazines) are from Popeye's hoard of all things from the 1970's :D It was originally cruel for me to suggest that we got rid of things he'd never look at, but now that they are in danger of being consumed by mice it seems sensible :D:D They are mostly car or airfix themed :o:o

    These brochures I've listed @ 99p
Listing fee was 10p, now 5p
FVF on items sold for £1.50-£2.20 = 30p-35p
Paypal fees for receiving money  (way too high!) = 30-35p
    (I've charge £1.00 for posting out - but I'm cheap ;) )

    so I finally receive for example £3.20 - 5p - 32p -32p = £3.15 (my boss allows me to frank stuff & I re-use envelopes etc, I put in a £10 occasionally :p )

    But at times I've received 99p + £1.00 -10p -30p -30p = £1.29 and if I paid true P&P it would be 50p at best. :o

Day 55 draws to a close, and these have been the worst 2 weeks of the time apart. :( Popeye is on the road for this time, so all the communication we get is a few e-mails each afternoon and a Skype call to his mobile (signal willing) each evening at 13 p a minute.
But with 27 or so days to go, and in that time I need to do half my challenge :o :rotfl:

No more books sold, no more items on e-bay, though I am eying the piano at the moment (it's not me who plays ;) ) And I did grab a late MS, buying DS2 yet more lager this evening. :D
And there's this irritating hiatus, where the money is "on it's way" gone from the site, but not yet in my account. So I can't update my signature.

I've moved my notebook next to my bed - I may yet do some writing. :o
And tomorrow FK is away, so I cannot go to the bank so I'll walk to work :D

Day 56 and I have one of those panics on. Popeye's money still hasn't arrived, I should have received it Tuesday

Last night I paid the minimum on his credit card instead of the budgeted full whack of £1,500 and I'm saved because I did. The mortgage went out today, using nearly all the available overdraft.

At these points I miss Popeye, not because he could magic the money from somewhere, or even that he could/should do anything, this is my job, but because who else can I rant at??
There was an e-mail from him today saying he hoped the money had arrived by now, if not perhaps I could phone his African Banker  and complain, and now he's off on the road until this afternoon. So how do I phone this bloke without a number and without authorisation? Though it may be different out there, perhaps wives can have access to hubbies bank accounts without a retina scan, a letter of authority signed by a bishop and a full set of passwords & numbers?

I feel like consoling myself with a shopping trip.:o
