Thinking about people growing food in their garden and any surplus seeds they might have to give away.....errr...I'm thinking of Mrs M here...can I just mention a post specifically to do with M.S.E. I put on my blog today (ie 10 September 2008):

thanks ceridwen,I've registered over there this morning too0 -
have also come away with a carrier bag of pears off their neighbours tree, not sure what to do with them though, some are still a bit sour tasting, any idea's??????
you could try putting them in a fruit bowl or bag with a few bananas and that should ripen them up a bit in a couple of days0 -
Thanks Ceridwen, I'll have a little look at that later. Havne tgot time now as have to get dressed and take Hamish to the vet!!!!
Also a big welcome to lollyfin....lovely bunch of people here, and well done in reading the whole thread, you're braver than me!!!!!!
Hope all have lovely days x x xI'm a frugal wannabe

the instructions on my lentil bag certainly said to soak before using. that's the one problem with getting using them, 'cos I've very few places I can leave them to soak where the blokes won't see themCheryl0

have you got an ice cream tub with a lid, they aren't see-through, and might put the lads off the scent?!
hello Lollyfin and welcome :j, It would be great to have your recipe. Could it use thigh meat for even more frugality?
Sian the green, maybe you'll be able to influence them all towards your thrifty ways! Once you've demonstrated how a thrifty meal can be just as yummy, maybe they'll be asking for tips?! If roasts are a favourite, can I recommend the value/smartprice turkey leg (especially good if slo-cookered) can't remember if you've got one, sorrywhich would do meat for 6 people if you used other trimmings like stuffing balls. 13p for a pack of SP stuffing (or Mrs M makes her own! Cooooeeeeee, Mrs M! Any chance of a recipe?
)
Lesleygaye, when I was gluten free for about 10 years, I liked things which were quite moist, like having lots of soaked fruit in them or brownies, or a lemon drizzle cake slice, because I think GF flour can make things a bit dry/heavy. Hope that helps!!!
Ashia, how many portions would you say the marshmallow thing makes? LOL, and don't say 'one!' :rotfl:
tattoedbum (have you really? wasn't it very sore?! Someone else on here has too, but I shan't say!!!) how much fudge does that recipe make, would it be a gift amount for 1 person, or a bit more than that?
Going to try to be virtuous again and transfer all my clothes which are now unlikely to fit for a while into another spare wardrobe, to make room for all the hand me down maternity stuff I've been given. At the moment our house looks like a disorganised charity shop, and Mr Weezl is geeting a bit overwhelmed!!!
Wish me luck,
Have a nice day all,
Weezl x
p.s crossed posts with you shaz, lovely pictures. The lake one is extraordinary. I hope you win...
