Hi all!
Aren't we doing well in the Paralympics? Makes you feel really proud.
I made lemon curd icecream last night. Can't say it was very OS but I DID make the lemon curd with value lemons that were half price cos they were getting a big wrinkled. God an amazing amount of juice out of them though which was fab. The juice I didn't use, I put into an ice cube tray to freeze. Never done that before but can't see a problem in it!
Anyway, the ice cream was fabulous and I had a bowl for lunch. (Ssshh don't tell me it's not very sensible, if you tasted it you would know why :rotfl: )
I watched that programme on breast milk too and have to admit to feeling sick and my OH refused to watch it at all.
I haven't caught up on all the thread yet but will try and get back later.
Hope everyone is doing well and special hugs to anyone who needs them today.

Hey All.
Must confess that makhani on monday did come out of a (half price at m and s) jar, but before I'm turned away form weezl-land, I do have a recipe for the sauce (possibly my first recipe donation).
Can be used with any meat, veg but was apparently orignally used with prawns so very versatile.
1 jar of passata
100mls of double cream
100mls of yoghurt
1 red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
2-3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
50g butter/ghee
garam masala
cumin powder
corriander
ginger
honey
Please bear i mind that generally I cook curry with left over meat from the roast so my meat is pre-cooked kinda. I also like mild curries so feel free to heat it up.
Fry the garlic, chilli, ginger and other spice type bits in some oil. Add yoghurt one spoonful at a time til it all mixed together, then add passata. When this is cooking away nicely you add the cream and butter and honey (if desired).
I love this curry as its lovely and tasty, but I adore the sweetness which comes from the honey, I add a good squeeze (sp) but people can feel free to play....I always do.
My naan is from a packet mix, sharwoods I think, I mix it up, split it in half, freeze half (it freezes fabulously) and work some garlic puree of oil into the bread...yummy...makesgood pizza base too.
Today I have been fairly industrious, its my day off, and I've moved both my bookcases into the lounge, its dead weird in the hallway now coz there's soooooo much space. I've cancelled two store cards ( but don't get too excited, I paid one off two years ago, and the other I've had more than a little help with). I making quesadillas tonight coz I was way too tired when I got home yesterday so we had, horror of horrors, hot dogs ( I love them), but I've no excuses today coz I've been able to rest (medication still making me tired, should only last a few more days though, I hope).
Well, feel like I've taken up enough space, I'll pootle off and give someone else a chance. Now MARRIED!11/09/100 -
I couldn't watch the breastmilk sharing prog - just the trailer made me feel queasy.
MSDiva - I know! Makes yer proud, dunnit!! An Aussie commentator in the Times said it's the hosting effect as Australia did very well in the Olympics before the one they hosted.
I have decided to make my sister some fudge for her birthday (on the 25th) so am now going to waste some time reading the receip index for inspiration, I'm thinking coffee flavour, with dark chocolate chunks.
