2 small onions from garden
1 red pepper from garden

cut all into small pieces and sautee in a tablespoon oil and an ounce of butter then add a pack of arborio rice....................from a shop!!!!
Keep adding hot veg stock(powder) until rice is really creamy ,about 20 mins then addded a few dried mushrooms (soaked in boiled water for 10 mins ) heat through add about 2 heaped tablespoons of grated parmesan and serve ,well i used the gran padano cheese you could sub for strong cheddar and use fresh mushrooms but i got loads from the chinese grocers a while back
made 5 greedy people portions not sure about costings but must be quite cheap due to the home grown- ness
OOh if you have a B&N they have the organic veg bouillion powder in a tub for 19p and loads of chinese sauces for 5 and 10p too

God Miss Marple has nothing on my mum .... Its many an evening watching taggart, morse, columbo etc :rotfl:But to that you need to add Sherlock Holmes (which is just finishing), Taggart (the original), Midsummer Murders, Maigret, Bergerac, CSI (any genre), Law & Order (and genre) and Numbers !!!!!
Many more besides, but they're the ones I've watched recently (except Bergerac, which I wish they'd do a re-run of!)Cheryl0 -

Another lurker creeping out of the woodwork. Complete computing novice so if this message appears I will be amazed. Wonderful website, lovely people and good advice. Followed your last thread weezl, and I am astounded by your ingenuity in making so little go so far. keep up the good work. Your news is wonderful too and the tiny one will be a lucky babe to have such great parents. I am a wannabe frugalista interested in living simply and as cheaply as possible. A lot of the methods for money saving went on in my childhood when money was pretty scarce, and I just carried on when I had my own family to feed so am used to a lot of them, but I keep learning every day. Have enjoyed reading all the posts so hope to feel a part of the mse community now I have joined in (if it posts!)0
