Mrs M - DH and I just had a walk up the park path and picked two mediumish bowls of blackberries. Better to pick them now in between the rain and before the storms tomorrow destroy them all.

Hi munchki :j
Mum will be happy...she is so interested in all the goings on on here but can't use a pc...we are in the midst of talking her into lessonsmy brother has a pc -so she may as well learn to use it :T
At the age of 67 she has had 3 big raised beds made in her garden -from railway sleepers, 2 green houses and a shed :j she is like Percy thrower on speed:rotfl:
Lesley...
Im planning on keeping a record next year of how well things have done and how many lbs etc I have had off -so I can concentrate on growing the varieties that give the best yield/flavourI started this year but with being away for 3 weeks it all went to pot:rolleyes:
I have done really well from seeds I have saved...heck we went to Kefalonia last year... and had some lovely tomatoes in a salad at the apartment we stayed ins bar -he was growing them on a patch of dust almost..next thing we know-my mum has tipped the seeds into a napkin and has grown them this year :rotfl: with great results -so she is saving me some seeds;)
I had several really nice packs of tomatoes from the supermarket last year and the seeds i set from them this year have produced some of my best tomatoes :j ..chillies and peppers have done well again
with most seeds they say that they might not grow quite as "true" to their original strain.. but they will still produce fruits... F1 are the ones that they say are most likely to grow slightly different -but still edible.. just a bit of a lucky dip what you get... all the more fun
I will definitely be saving some from my butternut squash if the survive..
We could do with setting up a seed swapping thingy... It would make it much more economical... im passing on some spares to a couple of people on another thread that I PM...But Im sure i will have some more spares if anyone is thinking of having a go..just PM meafterall.. just a couple of seeds from each variety would be enough to have a go without the initial outlay of loads of packets of seeds .
It seems really nice that everyone is finding someone fairly close to where they are..almost like a buddy system :T ..oohh munchki. I don't think we will be visiting the UK again before next year as we spent 3 weeks home in June?july with my sister being terminally ill.. but I will warn you when im coming back :rotfl:
Also it means that if i find any super bargains again..like those arches i got for €2 each -i could check if you wanted any bringing back
right back off to my sewing
have a great evening all-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Wow! This thread is amazing!!! Really!
I'm new to this site which was recommended else where as a good starting point for helping get to grips with reducing debts & saving money.
Haven't managed to get through all of this thread yet but what I have read has been really quite useful and interesting too! Glad I stumbled across it now, will be noting down recipes and lurking around to see how you get on Weezl. I am truly amazed by what you're doing0
