sorry didnt mean to press the thanks button for crafty scholars comment.
There is no need to be so rude to people the person was just saying that they found his remarks unnecessary, and as such didnt think he deserved our support.
This is not about where you come from this is about uncalled for comments about our country.
That's OK I promise not to count it.
I was not being rude just objected to him being criticised for not supporting someone elses football team.0 -
I did not mean to thank you either, ^^^^^ that is totally uncalled for, someone was just stating that she did not like his aggressive manner, don't take it out of context.
I did not take it out of context.
Andy Murray can be a bit inarticulate and come over as less than charming but I was objecting to the specific reference to his reaction when England were knocked out of the World Cup.0 -
Wow, I started something there, didn't I? I also unwittingly thanked craftscholar, too. Pity we don't have a 'delete thanks' button!
Thanks to all of you who knew I wasn't talking about patriotism in that way and thanks, Donny-Gal, for your words. I couldn't have put it better myself. As you say, we could go on and on but we won't because we're far too nice. I'm proud to be British, half-English, half-Welsh, to have lovely Scottish relatives through a family member's marriage, and to have had my Irish name chosen by the lovely Irish doctor who delivered me, many summers ago.

And now I will leave all you lovely nice people in peace.0 -
Celyn - you devil you! Well done!
Bandraboy - congratulations to you. I bet it tasted delicious, bless your little cotton socks! (Sorry, I couldn't help it!) Well done, also, on saving money by making things at home. I think Martin pointed out on one of his shows that buying a coke and a bag of crisps every working day of the year costs around £300 a year; don't quote me, I know it was an awful lot of money that is better in your pocket than someone else's.

Well as i am managing to do no work what soever, i thought i would spend some time moochng around here.
It has helped me make curry, meant to be with leftover chicken, but looks like a very nice veg curry!
I have also got the artisan bread prooving and two loads of washing on the line enjoying the sunshine i would like to enjoy!
I am very grateful to you all as i find life a bit lonely at the moment as all i do is sit at my computer all day and don't speak to anyone until DH comes home.
I need a way to make more money and i need more motivation to de-clutter so i will continue to read.
I really enjoyed the tennis last night, i agree Murray could be a little happier, but hey he is winning so lets all be grateful:)
Right well i suppose i should either do some work or go and make more food, as i will be incapacitated from Friday for a few days and want to make sure there is food.
Enjoy the hotest day of the year so far!Leopardlady

I thought it would be interesting to start a diary detailing my journey into OldStyledom (lol!).
Anyway if you feel like reading and commenting then come and say hi. Hopefully it will interesting reading.
A bit about me:
I'm 25, currently unemployed but need to find a job. Having recently moved into a new flat money is a bit tight, especially as we are trying to tie up all loose ends from last flat, and letting agents still haven't decided how much deposit to give us back despite the fact that the previous property was so damp it destroyed our futon mattress and bed, and we ended up incurring loads of expenses and having to move (at our expense). Are trying to stick to a budget for the first time.
After randomly deciding to buy a basil plant in Tesco a while which I have sucessfully managed not to kill. It really is amazing. I have virtually no experience of gardening and no interest to be honest but I water the baisl everyday and despite looking really scraggly from using all the leaves- they have completely come back and it is looking really healthy.
Anyway getting carried away today I decided to purchase a rosemary plant. I had seen one in the farmers market but it was £1.40 for 2 little twigs. I wandered on a bit more and came across one which was really bushy looking and it was only £2.00 which I thought was briliant. I just have to find some cooking uses for it now, which with BF being veggie could be interesting.
Also bought a nice tall tomato plant. A couple of flowers but no tomatoes yet so am hoping it will turn out alright. Cost 80p and should turn out o.k. Just need to find something to stake it with.
Also went to B&Qyesterday and a lot of the stock was half price- it looked like it hadn't been watered for daysso hoping to go back and pick up a couple of pepper plants (they seem to have survived!) and a grow bag - need OH as grow bag is heavy - we are going to try and get it home on the bus - hmmmm.
Last month we were close to hitting our target of £200 on all food etc for the whole month. We would have been over by only a few pounds if we hadn't gone to Tesco and stocked up on Essentials using the News of The World Coupon. We were very sensible though and 90% is stuff we needed or will definitely use in the future - bread rolls, squash etc.
Splashed out on a sandwich at lunch time which will need to come out of the food budget so have to be good for the rest of the month. Oh and also some strawberries.
Off to get our haircut tonight (£11 each) which will be the first time I have had my hair cut this year so will be intereting. OH needs his haircut as otherwise he won't be able to see, it's that long!
The plan is to cook a pizza in the oven rather than get a takeaway which OH suggested as we did so well on our budget last month. To be fair he took sandwiches to work everyday for a whole month and I ate at home everyday and we had no takeaways or meals out paid for by us- we would normally have had 3 meals out a month and he would have taken sandwiches 2-3 times a week when really trying so feeling really pleased.
Got a long way to go on this oldstyle journey.Making my money go further with MSE :j

Hi - welcome to the O.S. Board
Your first stop - methinks Weezl's USDA Challenge thread - for a good lookaround generally. Specifically - she has a sundried tomato and rosemary bread recipe there on the thread (thinking of a use for that rosemary to start with).0 -
Thanks. I have to admit to being a bit of a lurker though so I don't feel like I'm new! but thanks for the recipe idea - will go and and have a look.Making my money go further with MSE :j
