Am I the only one not rooting for Andy Murray? I'll never forget how juvenile and uncharitable he was when England were knocked out of the last World Cup. He was delighted! I don't think he deserves the adoration and support of the British after the remarks he made. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone but, well, he annoyed me and there was no need for it. Richard Gasquet is far more handsome, too! Rant over!

So a Scottish tennis player has to support the English football team before he can 'deserve' the support of the British. Which British would that be? The Welsh British , Scots British or English British?

Sorry I forgot, the terms English and British are interchangeable The rest of us are just tacked on irritants who should be grateful to share your island

Come on Craftyscholar - no one should be delighted when any of our teams are knocked out of a competition, and if it comes to that, how come 3/4's of the British Parliament are none English, when we don't have our own partliament, we could go to town on this, but this isn't that type of thread.

As far as Murray is concerned I agree is M - it is not his nationality but his demeanour - looks, dress, and aggro which annoys. Maybe he is young, and the British Tennis set up I know will not help, it stinks, but he is no much different in age to Nadal and Jokavich, who at least do smile and appear pleasant.

sorry didnt mean to press the thanks button for crafty scholars comment.
There is no need to be so rude to people the person was just saying that they found his remarks unnecessary, and as such didnt think he deserved our support.
This is not about where you come from this is about uncalled for comments about our country.

Feel much better now, hoovered, wm and bm on! Even had some of last nights leftover couscous for lunch, added feta and some lovely ripe toms that I grabbed in aldi, they are delicious, only a few left cos I munched most of them last night whilst i was waiting for the veggies to roast!

Think giving each child a wash basket for their room is working well, means that they don't chuck everything worn or unworn in it cos they don't have room, whereas they seem to think their bathroom floor is ok to cover with clean clothes that they just can't be bothered to put away properly! Anyway, means that I don't seem to have so much washing to do, yippee! A friend who has 6 children suggested I try what she did, each one had a day allocated to use the washing machine, and they were responsible for their own stuff! I quite like mine all mucking in together tho, and helping each other. Besides how can I use the washing as a punishment if they only wash their own stuff! Talking of which, no need for me to do DW as dd2 was rude last night and told a whopping fib, as a result she is now on DW duty for the rest of the week - is it mean to smile!

Time for a cuppa and a mooch around here, want to read the artisan bread thread, and see how Weezl got on with her £120 for feeding 2 people for 3 month challenge.

I just did a really bad thing, but it was winding me up sooo much I couldn't help myself.

If anyone happens to ask, I don't have the fuse from the lab CD player plug in my back pocket.

(I didn't mean to thank either, I just clicked down the page)

I did not mean to thank you either, ^^^^^ that is totally uncalled for, someone was just stating that she did not like his aggressive manner, don't take it out of context.

I know most of you are going to say "Aaah bless his little cotton socks". But for a bloke who only goes into the kitchen to get another beer, I've quite impressed myself.

I just made Welsh Rarebit - and though I say so myself, it was not bad for a first attempt. Needed a bit more Mustard and Worcestershire sauce. I'll get it right next time. Could also have grilled it a bit longer for that browned look.

Isn't Cornflour great? The way it thickens things!

So many happy childhood memories of Welsh Rarebit.

Also just finishing hard boiling an egg. so I can make Egg Mayonnaise sarnies for tomorrow's day out. And yeah the mayo was home-made too. A bit too much vinegar I think, but hey once the hard boiled egg has been added and slapped between 2/4 slices of wholemeal bread....won't notice.

Finally decided to cut back on my trips to designer coffee shops by making my own home made frappaccino/iced coffee things. This was a success - lots of caramel sauce. What do you use to thicken coffees/milk shakes? Don't say corn flour!:rotfl:

Wah this cooking lark is quite fun.

I feel so bad, but they drive me nuts. Today it was Dutch radio. I *need* quiet.

Still, it's the nice thing about working with a bunch of very prissy women - is that a) they will all just flap and wonder what's wrong with it b) they wouldn't think to look there c) I'm the only one with a tool kit so they wouldn't be able to check as they wouldn't know which end of the screwdriver to use

And I've already been downstairs and told workshop what I've done - they said if it comes for repair (which is what our lab manger will do with it), they'll hold on to it for two months for me :D I love the workshop guys. :D
