  • Hi Pigpen and the gang:hello:

I've lurked around your flylady thread long enough, I completely fed up with my housework:mad: , courtesy of my DD(4) and DS(2) and don't even get me started on the ironing. So it's time to join in and hopefully keep on track by updating thread.

    Ironing tips please!!!
Do you guys have any tips to minimse ironing, by the time I've changed beds, washed/drier and iron all my bed linen. I can't be bothered starting on my mountain of ironing.

Anybody see me online this week, please kick me off to get my ironing under control.

So much for my early night. DS and I got settled into the TV - "There's been a muhdah Jim" except Jim's not in it anymore, nor is Mike Jardine. But DS Reed is still there. I ended up re-making my bed in stages during the adverts!

Hey ho, as long as I sleep soundly tonight I'll be OK for work tomorrow.

    Have a nice night ladies..

Do you really iron your bedding? I would never get anything else done. Having said that, I do have one cotton duvet cover which creases badly. I normally put it on the bed and just give it a once over whilst it's on the bed. All my sheet are fitted ones and by the time I've tugged them over the corners of the matress, the creases magically disappear :D

Yes, generally I do. Occasionally I wash/ tumble dry and straight back on the bed, may have to give duvet covers a quick iron. however don't like to do this a like to rotate bedlinen sets.

I either neglect the house, the garden or the children.

So glad you said that as it is the same for me. Last week the house got lots of attention - this week it will be the garden - sorry kids (actually you got Friday at Thorpe Park), therefore flying will be reduced this week.

Tinsel - I have often thought of you and wondered how things went. Your post brought the biggest grin to my face, wishing you all every happiness.

Lil_me - mine have had thread worms, and head lice - those things don't freak me, I think it's being a gardener (rodents are all that bother me). Like the others say easy to treat. I've used the prisen (sp) tablets, drink is vile. Whoever asked what will happen if you don't know - the cycle will finish if the eggs don't get back into the gut - the child could keep reinfecting themself/picking it up again and again from other kids too. I have treated it homeopathically too once - that may have worked or the cycle may have been broken.

Germish - if I have a room which is fine and recently done then I don't bother redoing it I just swop the days around - I've been doing kids rooms on Mondays as I was never getting to them. Re the carrots - if you can only afford one organic food carrots are the one to go for due to the large amount of chemicals used and absorbed on regular ones so the TT did good:T

FFP welcome. Ironing reduce what you can and learn the art of smoothing. I iron our pillow cases as they are cotton - duvets are pulled back over the day to air the beds so never seen. Smooth and fold clothes as they come off the line - tshirts etc and you can reduce you ironing a lot. There are 5 of us and I iron on a Sunday night for approx 1 hour and that is generally it for the week.

AnW'sMum - I know you will be a huge comfort to the lady who has lost her DH, hope it is not too hard on you.
