JillD when my DS2 was a baby we had a system where when DS1 wanted to play with something with smaller pieces he'd bring it down, we'd play so I could supervise both then put it away (and yes I counted to make sure everything was there sometimes :rotfl: ) he was 2 coming up 3 then but really liked magnetix. Other than having seperate play areas (taking her with you when you need to do something - highchairs can be handy for that, or a playpen/travelcot my Ds2 used to love watching me clean, strange child) or taking the risk of well if she eats something we'll deal with it, I think it's the only way. The boys do this now when Matthew is here, they don't bring stuff with tiny pieces down. Sods law mine only started really eating/shoving things in places they shouldn't when they were about 5 years old :rotfl: definately one that catches you off guard!
bonsibabe one thing I loved about moving was the huge kick up the bum to declutter! Sounds like you are both doing well.
I'm going to go pay some money off DPs credit card (just given me some money) work out tomorrows other must dos (must be things I have forgot as list looks smaller than usual) let the dogs out then bed I think, see if I can get to sleep. Darn after I have put clean sheets on the bed, forgot I'd stripped that...night night everyone xOne day I might be more organised...........

but before I go a question to those with older ones and a crawling baby
What do you do to stop the baby getting hold of inappropriate pointy or chokable small toys of the bigger ones ?
We have a playroom downstairs, I have pretty much removed the older ones stuff up to their bedrooms so the playroom only has toys that are safe for LO. Either proper baby toys or things like Fisher Price Little People stuff , mega blocks etc that she cant get in her mouth or headbutt onto a sharp corner. This is ok except the older two (5 and 3) just play with the baby's stuff so the room is just a sea of shape sorter bits, wooden puzzle etc etc, and they have all but stopped playing with their own tos as they like to stay downstairs with me rather than go upstairs on their own. And it feels like such a waste since they have so many toys of their own inckluding a load of new ones that DS got for his birthday (loads of lego, knew, meccano lots and lots of bits aarrggh).
Anyone got any tips or advice ? I have so much cooking and laundry type stuff to do and I also work 3 days so I dont have a lot of time to sit playing and supervising and I need to be able to go in and out of the room without worrying that she is about to choke or injure herself. She doesn't sit to play she rolls around and can get to anything now aarrghh
Never had this problem before, first 2 were 18 months apart so when my second got to 6 months and rolling the older one was only just 2 and didnt really have muchin the way of small bits to toys anyway.
Right really off to bed now
Jill

Morning all
Slept well but not long enough. Something woke me up at 4am and I just sort of tossed and turned after that. Still, I'm up and about to get in the bath. I really, sometimes, wish I could win the lottery, premium bonds or something so I didn't have to do this work thing.
I just remembered I need to do some stuff tonight so I'll put it in a list so I don't forget to do it this evening (otherwise I'm in trouble!)- VAT return

I'm in again this week, just been catching up on the thread.
Hello to all the newbies:D Its fun here.
Congratulations to Tinsel Fairy, really pleased for you.
Need to do a quick fly round this morning, was planning to take LO to the zoo this afternoon as our yearly pass runs out today. However i have just looked out the window and it is peeing down:eek: Hmmm, may need to rethink it, will see how it looks later.
Managed to spend so much money this weekend, went into a nice shop on thursday and drooled over all the Oakley, Ripcurl and Oneill stuff but was very good and didnt buy anything:D However was passing it on saturday and they had 50% off everything! I may have spent £200+:o £20 of that was on a shirt for my dads birthday and i got hubby a pair of Oakley sunglasses. I am very much in the good wife books. Everything else was for me though, its been ages since i spent anything on myself. Got a really nice new jacket, hoodie and about 8 tshirts.
Right, enough waffling, where's that list...The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
