That's awful Davgirl, so sorry to hear.
You seem very calm about it I must say, I would be having fits if it happened to me!
Will you be ok food wise?0 -
Lil_me it is so true i came back with money and was abit shocked, i really need to budget better.
Davgirl thats awful.
Haven't managed much since my last visit so i really should get up and do something, the house is freezing eventho the fire is on...cuppa needed.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -
Germish - we'll manage. I also have an american fridge freezer which has some food in. Tend to just keep meat and bread in the one that was turned off. I was going very mad when I found it.
Lil_me the food was warm and stunk - who knows when it was turned off (its in the cupboard under the stairs and I transfer what I need for the coming week into the one in the kitchen). Its all had to go in the bin, might of poisoned someone if we had eaten it.
I've got a cupboard full of baked beans and plenty of bread flour so we won't starve.0 -
Finally took down my ICS course from the wardrobe, wiped about 3 inches of dust of it:o , gonna have a look through tonight and see how much is left to do but i have no self-discipline what so ever.0

Mudbath nice for you to have a chat.

Oh Davgirl that's not good at all, I'm paranoid of the same happening to my garage one again after the last time so check it a lot, probably too much.
Stupid dog has found a hedgehog in the garden, he was stood barking at the bush and scratching then when I went to drag him in I heard a puffing noise (same as my hedgehog makes) grabbed him and got him in the house as he wouldn't leave it. I managed to move the bushes a little and could see it, but can't reach it. I've locked the dogs in and hoping it goes away before I let them out later on.
Got some more done on the assignment but not much, going to watch Casualty then do some more. One day I might be more organised...........

Quick wave to you all.
It's been a longgggggg day here. DS2 is being a bit grotty. High temp and unhappy unless he is sleeping upright on someone's shoulder. Also slavering loads - which i really hope isn't teething as 8 weeks sounds too young to me.
We have been awake with him since 4am, till i eventually got up at 6 with him, and then left DH in bed a bit longer. Ds1 joined me at 7.
I have had a semi-productive day - WM has gone on x2, tea towels/cloths, and all of the bedding, which i have just remembered to remake so we don't have to do it before bed. Food shop was done this morning and i managed to spend £70 as dh has done the past few weeks so we had run out of loads of stuff like tissues/binbags/fabric conditioner and we needed new toothbrushes and some baking stuff for me. I am going to be a bit more organised and homely.
DH took ds1 for a ride to birmingham as he had to go for work - i was going to do some stuff but ended up dealing with ds2, so i watched my rental dvd instead.
when they got back we had an early tea cooked by dh while he simultaneously played with DS1 outside and did some gardening (WOW! a mere man who can multi task) , and then this evening me and dh have had a romantic evening cleaning the kitchen, mainly the cooker.
While i simultaneously loaded the BM for the first time in at least a year with a fruit loaf as i was not paying £1.20 today for a warbutons one. I will start to reduce the shopping bill somehow, particularly as i had all the stuff in anyway.
I didn't check the time though and the BM won't finish till about 11:30 - but that is ok as i need to take another beachams flu tablet thing, and feed ds2.
I needed to do some cleaning this evening as we had a bit of bad news today and i needed to stop me thinking a bit. One of our neighbours boys (16yo) has died from a peanut allergy. We found out this afternoon. It comes following the death last week of one of the oldies who live at the top of our street from pneumonia. It hasn't upset me personally as we don't really now any of the neighbours that well, but has left me maudling about how the poor parents must be coping, or his younger brother who i regularly talk to when he plays on the street. It got me thinking a lot about how fragile life is and how my problems are really not problems compared to this boy who has just done GCSE's and should be having the best summer of his life.
Please spare a thought for his family and hold your own angels close, even if they are monkeys.
Hugs to all of you.
Michelle, x0 -
Davgirl - what a nightmare. I'd be tempted to cook it up and feed it to whoever turned the freezer off but then i'm not always very nice!!!!
1015 and about to go to bed and read. I am SO, SO, SO, SO, So glad I didn't go to that party!:rotfl:0 -
Michelle, my youngest got his first tooth before then so it might be. Sorry to hear about the bad news aswell, I posted something similar myself after I read about the Gresham family who lost 4 little ones after an accident. People belittle allergies sometimes, thinking they don't matter at all, just shows how serious it can be.
Mudbath :rotfl: you're just getting old :rotfl: or that's what Miss 'Party' Pigpen will say, must admit a major reason I want to go on holiday for my 30th is because I don't want fuss or a party. DP is in the middle of arranging a 'social' night for us and people who go to the club we run, well mainly us, he's arranged it for a Sunday knowing pubs close earlier and we'll probably be home by 12 :rotfl:
Grrr DPs mother isn't even in the country and causing friction, grrr grrr grrrr
Oh and please send selling vibes for my parents for tomorrow! I really don't know what they are going to do when they eventually sell, DP keeps saying he can see my Mam ending up having to live here, he's probably closer to the truth than I'd like, but it'll stop them bickering! One day I might be more organised...........

Michelle - that's so sad. Allergies really can be frightening. All my clients think i'm so over the top that I ask them in three difference places on a consultation form if they have any allergies but you really can't be too careful. Hugs to you and, it goes without saying, to your neighbours xx0
