I can't believe how much it has made me think when i don't really know them. I think it is just the proximity to home, and then i've just popped onto the local newspapers website to see if there was any mention of it on there, and noticed two people were killed on the road leaving the village when a motorcycle crashed into an oncoming lorry yesterday. Again a shocker as we have been off the road twice on this road, and i have emailed local councillers to tell them about how unsafe the road is, and no response. I knew someone would be killed there one day.

I think i am going to switch off thinking now or you could end up really depressed couldn't you

Mudbath – see – you made the right decision not to go out. And it ALWAYS means so much to a person whenever their Mum or Dad says they’re proud of them - whatever their age.

Boddy – I too was wondering about Bonsibabe – hope they’re alright.
Davgirl – hugs – that’s every woman’s nightmare I think – the freezer being turned off.

Lil-me – my dog has a particular ‘hedgehog’ bark. We’ve had a hedgehog use the back garden for years. I know it’s about because when I do the dog poo sweep, there’s often hedgehop poop to sweep too. If it's out when my dog goes out, the dog goes vocally ballistic. So much so that if I get up to go to the loo in the middle of the night in the summer, I’ve stopped opening the back door so the dog can go out too – just in case HH is about – the neighbours would definitely be woken up! And I’m sending the bestest, most heartfelt vibes for your mum and dad for tomorrow.
Michelle – that’s so sad! And so young! It always seems far more tragic when it’s a young person rather than an oldie – at least the oldies have had a good stab at life. I’ll send up a little prayer to the family when I do my prayers tonight

Well, for all my not knowing what I'd do when I got up this morning I've actually achieved some things. I think it helped me a lot getting up and saying to myself I'll have a chill day. It meant I didn't pressurise myself at all but actually got several things done. The weather forecast was dreadful first thing. But, when we still had wall to wall sunshine and a goodly breeze at 10 am, I put the washing machine on. Then on again. Then on again. I did 3 machine loads in all, stuck them all outside in turn and they dried beautifully - I got the final load (of towels) in, dry, about 5 minutes before the rain started.

The rain has gone off a bit but it's almost gale force winds out there right now. I'll say it, boringly, again - I'm so pleased with my new french windows - there is no draught in the living room tonight!

I also ended up putting some more stuff on ebay and got to Tesco to do the weekly shop about 5.30pm. DiL actually volunteered to come with me! (Shock! Amazement!) and it was actually really nice to have her company.

Did steak and chips and salad for dinner then settled down to watch the John Travolta film "The General's Daughter". I found it very, very thought provoking....

But, I now need to go and make my bed (having washed the sheets today) and go get into it very soon.

evening all - just checking in before bed! not got everything done but some is better than none i guess!

michelle - vsad, makes you think, as you say. Sad thing now is that once there has been an accident they are more likely to do something about the road. worth phoning your council's highways dept i think.

bathroom - sink, bath, tiles, loo
    kitchen - wash up, worktops,
    cupboard doors, appliances, floor
bedroom - strip bed, clean sheets on, hoover, sort out clothes rack pile
    lounge - tidy table, hoover
rest of flat - put stray things away, hoover

    library
buy milk for in laws (back from hols tomorrow)
    return trousers to Sains
    WM
    dry washing off airer

    transfer £15 to mum
reduce stock down - used it in tonight's mushroom risotto - was yummy :)

right, i do really need to sleep! meant to be going to DH's work BBQ tomorrow - i'm keener to go than he is - mainly cos its a free meal out ;) He has been a bit of a star today and hung up the wet washing and also wiped down loads of paintwork in the hall & stairs - all without being asked!

So post on here that you are going to do it and Pigpen will [strike]nag[/strike] remind you.:D

I'm not to bad once i get started:rotfl: , but it's the getting started. Hubby said he'd make sure i do it.

Only 2 more loads of washing and the bed sheets to do tomorrow, finally found the hall floor and my house plant is now in the shower after having a good soaking. DS1 sprayed purfume in DS2's eyes the wee git so playstation has been taking away (there not allowed in our room anyway, so big trouble).

Funny enough my dad was on msn tonight talking to me, he always types in ''it's your da here'' as well as my mum who i think has been on the drink, as she kept telling me she was down with the young ones.:rotfl:

Right i should think about heading to bed before i fall asleep on the sofa.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.

Haven't been anywhere near the computer for 3 days so I haven't got a clue what's going on! New windows are now fitted and I can see the floor in all rooms although in some the clutter has just been moved so it still needs sorting out. Don't know whether I'll get chance to catch up with the thread so hugs to anyone who needs them and let me know if I've missed anything vital.

Going to go and check my emails now - dread to think how many I'll have.

    Morning everyone.

Thats me back home Im pleased to say. Pleased to have a few days off as Im feeling stressed with the job. Although its going to be more stressful when the manager comes back off her hols this week. Not that anythings wrong but in her eyes she will find about 20 things to go mad about and leave silly notes. I wish we had a good manager but all she does is find fault and cause probs with the clients. One of the staff has actualy spoke to the head guy as we havent got confidence in our manager or her line manager. Sorry for the rant no wonder I cant wait till I retire next year.

lil_me Yes it was a quiet night. got my chores done and watched carp tv. Hope your DPs mum has stopped giving you hassle. Oh and positive selling vibes for your parents.

Mudbath I think the universe wanted you to stay in and get that phone call from your dad. It doesnt matter how old we are its still nice to get praise from our parents. Looks like it was dads night as a few people have spoke to theirs. When I go see mum Im glad to have her still here but sad for things that I never asked or said. All I can do for her now is see her and give her hand massages and hold her hand.

Davgirl Oh thats awful bout the freezer.

chas97michelle Sorry to hear about your neighbours son. Its also sad if people have had to be killed before they do anything about the road.

Im going to have another cuppa and read the papers. will go to bed after lunch. though last time I did that I thought it was the next morning when I woke up. :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Good Morning

    - Bad news about the freezer :(

Michelle - It's so sad when someone so young is taken. The families have my sympathy.

Dorset seems to have forgotten that's it July today. High winds and rain. More like November! WM going on regardless, will have to hang the launrdy on the drier instead.

Nothing planned for today. Back to work in the morning so it's time to chill out and enjoy the last few hours of freedom :)

    Have a good day, everyone.

Morning everyone. Hope you are all feeling chipper this morning.

Well the washer survived me shoehorning the duvet in. My bed is super lovely and clean now. And I can save my Argos vouchers for something else :D .

Piddling it down here again!! so no gardening today.

    My list for today is:

Iron uniforms and work clothes for week.
    S&S Kitchen tops and doors
    Clean fridge
Mop kitchen and living room floor
    Make bread
    Wipe down French doors
Write Meal Plan (and decide what to eat today)
    Polish bedrooms.

Lots of stuff to remeber next week so going to bung them on here to remind me:

    Mon - DSs parents evening
Tue - DSs French Day (having school lunch)
Wed - Being observed at my school  , DSs Summer Concert (debating whether or not to go to this, as after the children have done their bit, they hold them hostage in the classroom until all the kids have finished - and the the recorders and choir seem to go on for hours!!)

Thur - DSs Sport's Day DS1 needs to wear green and DS1 red and blue (can't go cos I'm covering class- boo)

    Fri - On a course
Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j

Well, I actually had a lie in today - I don't often do that. I did wake up about 05:45 (normal getting up time on a work day) went to the loo and then forced myself back to bed. Next thing I knew, it was about 09:30.

I can confirm what Mabboo said about the Dorset weather - we've strong winds and a lot of wet stuff and it's dark and gloomy. A staying in day today I think! Looking at the rainfall radar and the satellite images on the Met Office's website, it looks like it's going to stay this way most of the day. Never mind, at least I got the washing done yesterday.

Also went through my junk email this morning to find an email from my team lead sent friday evening saying that I can take tomorrow off if I wish. The project I threw out on Friday at the eleventh hour won't be ready for me again until at the earliest Monday afternoon. So I'm humming and hahing. The weather's looking bad for tomorrow as well so I might as well go in if it's going to rain. I shall make up my mind later.
